Glencairn Museum

The history of world religions comes to life through this museum's extensive collection of art and artifacts from different cultures and time periods. Glencairn was once the home of Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn. It was built between 1928 and 1939. Glencairn became a museum after the death of Mildred Pitcairn in 1979. Let our guides show you the best the Museum has to offer by taking our Highlights Tour. Tours leave regularly Tuesdays through Fridays at 2:30 pm and weekends at 1:00, 2:30 and 3:00 pm. The "Time Travelers" family backpack tour is at 1:45 pm on weekends. The Museum is only accessible through guided tours, with the exception of our two Festival Days. You can see all of the galleries through a self-guided tour during those events. Guided tours have a maximum of twelve people per tour. Reservations are strongly recommended. The Museum's 1st floor, including the Great Hall, Upper Hall, and Bird Room, is open weekends FREE of charge, from 1:00-4:30 pm. A FREE cell phone tour of Glencairn's exterior and 1st floor is also available. Please join us this weekend for FREE Coffee in the Castle!

We visited last week and was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful mansion now converted into a museum. It has beautiful stain glass windows that has been built on site and are replica of stain glass windows from European Churches. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable.
The variety of artifacts and attention to details are impeccable. It also houses the pieces collected by the family from Egypt , Greece and other parts of the world.
Definitely worth the time in the beautiful surrounding !!!
Will be definitely going back during their Fall festival for various activities and special tours.

Incredible - and free- humongous play structure for kids and big kids at heart alike. Massive four story structure with two giant slides, climbing galore, a place to picnic and tons to see/explore. Little kids have a nearby area, but be prepared to chase them as they chase the older ones. Don't come when too hot (no shade) but a great place to visit w kids in Bucks County.

Ambler Theater

The Ambler Theater, built in 1928, is a modified Spanish design. It is a nonprofit community-owned theater with approximately 6,000 members. The theater seats 140 and 110 in 2 of the auditoriums. Renovations to the third auditorium were completed in 2007 and it seats 270. The theater features dolby digital sound, stadium seating, handicap access and hearing impaired services.

The Ambler Theater is a local gem and an antidote to the horrid multiplex, cookie cutter theaters that predominate in the suburbs It is the closest movie experience to the Ritz theaters that we have in the suburbs. Much of the original architecture of an "ancient" movie palace have been retained. The lobby is small but authentic. So is the small refreshment stand.
Seats are comfortable and the theaters are small enough so the screen occupies much of your line of sight. The attendees are usually well behaved
and respectful of others.
Left for last is the outstanding moves that only Ambler brings to the screen - small independent productions, foreign films, documentaries, televised performances.

Crooked eye's staff are all really friendly. We shared two flights and the beer selection is good and varied. They have growlers and crowlers for sale too. Great spot, albeit a little hard to find tucked behind a tattoo shop. There's a deli next door, a wawa and a vegan restaurant are close by too, so you can grab food to bring with you.

I frequent the park often. There are no many well maintained trails. There are paved trails and some paths through the woods. The park has horse trails too. Trails are well marked. There are often events like a craft show in the fall, yoga, and fund raiser races. There is Frisbee golf and picnic areas. You take varies loops so can walk a mile, or 10 or more.
