We were given gift vouchers for spa treatments at the integrated Miracles Day Spa. Which was a wonderful experience with fantastic treatments overseen by Christina. We stayed to talk to Dan and Christina about their COVID experiences and like many these have ben difficult times. We loved their positive attitudes and are confident that their warm and reassuring manner will see them through. Make sure to book a stay with them when they reopen.

We had a marvelous time at Magnanini’s! I went with my sister and niece. We visited after church and had their one hour wine tasting in the tasting room downstairs then ventured to the dining hall for great food, music, and beverage. (We purchased 2 bottles at dinner). The people there are so nice too - both the Staff and the “Regulars”. My niece is friends with a family member and she’s been encouraging her to visit. I’ve had this on my list as well for 15 years! They did not disappoint! A must do.

As a bird photographer, the Grasslands was on my must-see lists. We decided to take a long weekend to NY state during Valentine's to hopefully see the Short eared Owls and Northern Harriers. We stayed in a lovely B and B up the road and the first afternoon of our visit, we stopped by to suss it out. It was drizzly and grey and we were the only two there. We took our gear to the first bird blind and saw about 5-8 SEO and a few Harriers. We were delighted and looked forward to a great photographic opportunity during the next couple of days. The next days were sunny, but very cold and the owls were a no-show, or seen sparingly in the great distance. We were entertained by a beautiful male kestrel who was hunting, and eventually brought up a vole to eat on a post. Grasslands is a beautiful place set in the most gorgeous country side. It was just so peaceful to be there. We enjoyed it. On our last day, we ran into a gentleman who was on the board of the Grasslands and he asked us about our visit. We told him we saw a lot of SEO activity on the first night, but none really since then. He told us we were lucky as they have not been seen much for a least the last three weeks. Between the wonderful stay in the BnB, we did enjoy our visit to Shawangun Grasslands! We definitely want to return again, maybe in the summertime for other meadow birds like Bobolinks and Meadow Larks. Dori K W and Michael M
