Porthcawl RNLI Lifeboat Station is an operational inshore lifeboat station where the volunteer crew provide an on-call 24/7 search and rescue lifeboat service. The station houses both a D Class and an Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat. The station has a gift shop which is open daily and it's possible to view the lifeboats and tractors from the shop (when they're housed within the boathouse). On weekends the main boathouse is often open to the public with volunteer visit guides on hand to answer any questions. The lifeboats are launched on training exercise most Sunday mornings between 10am-12pm. Porthcawl RNLI was Wales' busiest RNLI station in 2018, launching 112 times - assisting 144 people, saving 8 lives. The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea.

The estate and Newton hosue are owned and managed by the National Trust. Castle Woods and Dinefwr Castle are owned by the South Wales Wildlife Trust and managed by Cadw. Dinefwr is a beautiful place to escape the rush of modern life and enoy the scents and sounds of nature. Whether you are marvelling at the wonderful panoramic views of the Towyi river from the castle parapets or getting up close to the dragonflies on the Mill Pond, you cant help but fall in love with Dinefwr's Parkland. Newton House is not a noral National Trust dressed house but instead acts as an exhibition telling the history of times gone by. The charm of Newton House is truely expereinced on the free Hidden House Tour. It is a house with no ropes and very much a space for families to enjoy. Fancy playing a steinway piano ? You can in Newton House. Inside the house there is also the Billiard Room, a licenced restaurant, the China Passage Art Gallery; and the Inner Courtyard Gift Shop show casing local products and plants. One of the most magnificent of Britain's castles is the "birth place of the Tudor Dynasty." You can climb the 80ft Great Keep, descend into a pre-historic cave and look down into a prisoner in a medieval dungeon. There is also a cafe and gift shop. During school holidays there are falconry displays, historic re-enactments and family entertainment. The main exhibition rooms display models and weaponry as well as telling the story of the history of the castle. You can also visit the room that King Henry VII the founder of the Tudor Dynasty was born.

First Hydro Company, the owner of the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre, has outlined its plans to refurbish the Centre in Llanberis. The aim of the new building is to deliver an engaging and attractive visitor experience, providing user-friendly resources that will appeal to tourist and education visitors alike. There will also be much-improved facilities for the community to use. Drawing on ENGIE’s regeneration capabilities, the new building will be sustainably designed, energy efficient and in keeping with the local environment and landscape. To facilitate the main demolition and refurbishment works going forward, the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre will be operating from temporary accommodation located in the Car Park effective 1 April 2019 until 30 September 2019.
