"The Grand Canyon of the Pacific," Waimea Canyon is 10 miles long and 3,600 feet deep.
This is a really amazing drive, and very low activity level so it's good for anybody. We drove the whole length, stopping at each vista - some were major vistas with parking, others just a turnout, but all worth seeing. Had a picnic at the visitor center.
Had leisurely brunch in Waimea, then went on this at a low pace and it took most of the day, but definitely not strenous and incredibly beautiful.

Dreams can come true! - Join us for a five-hour experience you will remember forever. Kauai's Na Pali coast is one of the most spectacular attractions in the world. Avoid the crowds and climb aboard a vessel that allows you to have a closer look. Our boats are the most practical size and design for touring Na Pali. Large enough for comfort and small enough to enter and explore ALL of the sea caves! Allow our small family operation to provide you with your Na Pali experience. Space is limited; reserve your tour today!
What an amazing trip we went on and Captain Mike was the best!! Most excursions put you on a catamaran or bigger boat that holds 50 or more people and you lose the intimacy. My wife and I typically go on private charters for that reason, but in this case there were only 6 passengers and that's the most they book for which makes for such a wonderful experience!! Mike was very knowledgeable about the history of the island and all the fun facts and the boat is small enough to go in all the sea caves. What a wonderful trip!!

Mountains on Kauai that offer many hiking trails.
Our tour bus stopped here and allowed us a few minutes to explore this area and take some pics. This is one of the last stops when visiting the Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific in Kauai. It overlooks the south shores of the Na Pali Coast line. There is so much incredible nature in Kauai and the Kokee Mountains are definitely part of it.

Really enjoyed my time with Blue Ocean. Captain J-Sea and the crew were super hospitable. Although the weather wasn't nice enough to snorkel, we got to see a few whales on the tour! Also Blue Ocean is notorious for taking those jumping photos with Na the Pali Coast in the background.

Come explore the enchanting Na Pali Coast above and below sea level. The waterfalls and sea cliffs rise up to 4,000 feet above sea caves, that are boat accessible. After exploring above water, we’ll leave gravity and scuba dive into the underwater world with exotic reef fish and green sea turtles. Unlike larger boats, our 26 foot Zodiac style boat is the best way to get up close and personal.
Our family just got back from our Kauai vacation and our highlight is definitely was our three dives/snorkels with Jessie and Nick. They were so friendly and knowledgeable about the local dive areas, aquatic life, and local customs. We saw eels, octopus, colorful fish, coal, turtles and a ray. While helping us find wonderful things to see they shared our enthusiasm about the sights.
Thank you so much for our wonderful trip. We hope to return for more dives again soon.

A historical state beach park with breathtaking views and landscape.
We went at night to go stargazing since it was pretty clear out. We chose Polihale since there would be no light pollution.
Goodness, the drive there was atrocious. It took us roughly 40 minutes to drive about 4 miles on the dirt road. It was full of little dips and pot holes. We were also in a little 4-door sedan rental so we were worried about ruining the car if we went too fast. Also saw a lot of frogs and a few cats on the way.
But wow! The view. I've never seen so many stars in my life, and that includes going stargazing on a cruise. It was truly spectacular.
We brought a sheet from the hotel room, some water, and just relaxed for a bit. There was a family with a bonfire nearby and someone else sleeping in a hammock.
I have no idea what part of the beach we were on since it was nearly impossible to see. I did notice some structures though, and there seemed to be a decent sized hill to our right with the ocean in front of us.
Anyway, even though the drive wasn't any fun, it was absolutely worth it!

A beautiful state park encompassing 4345 acres and containing 45 miles of scenic trails.
Great park with many good views and trails. Please respect Mother Nature, and leave the park better than when you came.

My husband and I have been on boat tours before and this ride was average. Our group was not able to go into the caves due to rough water. We were actually rescheduled because of high waves earlier in the week. The tour guide was repetitive and there was not enough historic or interesting facts provided throughout the trip.
The boat was smaller, which was understandable for going in the caves, but it made for a rocky ride at times. I ended up getting sea sick and my husband asked if there was anything we should do to help alleviate the nausea. The staff was not very empathetic and though I understand there was not much they could do, it was the communication style and the way they handled the situation that we did not appreciate.
I would not have gone on the ride had we known entering the caves was not a possibility. There should be a definite communication/decision at the beginning of the tour versus a "maybe". I don't believe the tour was worth the amount we paid.
