Ohoka Farmers Market

A popular weekly farmers market held every Friday morning from 9am til 12.30pm. Only 20 minutes from Christchurch. The market operates in all weather all year round. Our market supports over 50 local food producers and growers. Visitors mingle with the locals to get the best of the freshest breads, organic veges and seasonal fruits, coffee, hot brunch selections, artisan products, fish, beer, wine, plants and flowers. Winter is a busy market and summer is huge. Ohoka is a country market located in the domain. It is popular so expect to walk a short distance on busy days. Childrens playground, toilets and EFTPOS available.

I generally go on a Friday stat day and ventured there around 10am on show day in November. The place was busy and had plenty of great stalls selling all sorts of things such as baking, Olive Oil, wine, vegetables, seedlings, meat, Eggs, fruit, exotic mushrooms, cheese, olives, nuts, etc etc. Also there are several craft stalls and several food trucks serving a variety of different styles of food. If you are in the area on a Friday morning then it is definitely worth a visit particularly on a Stat day.

Visited while travelling through Oxford. It is an awesome shop with many items made by local people. Also food items like honey and peanut butter. The kids loved browsing and bought some clothes for their dolls. Highly recommended.
