Very nice church and surroundings, with short history exhibition underground and very nice herbal garden (also with traditional chinesse medicine herbs). Amazing view from garden.

The Zadni, or Rear Synagogue on Subakova Street in the center of the Jewish Quarter (Zidovska Ctvrf), has been skilfully restored to its former simple beauty and is open to the public as a museum and meeting place, while commemorating the former vibrant Trebic Jewish community, obliterated by the Nazis following the occupation of Czechoslovakia during W/W II. The hand-painted texts on the walls and ceiling are evocative of the long, uninterrupted history of this community since the 17th century, and the accoutrements and sacred artifacts have been respectfully displayed on both lower sanctuary and upper gallery floors. There is a nominal charge for entrance, offset by the palpable evidence of a serious restoration effort on the part of the city fathers.

We visited Jihlava underground one Saturday in November. Even if off season, the guided tour was available, so we were happy we could join. They provide audio guides for non Czech speaking visitors. The tour has taken approx one hour and we learnt much about history of the place. Interesting mysterious story from times under WW2. Definitely must to visit when in Jihlava. Thank you.
