Being the first region in the world to be demarcated for wine, the Douro Valley is now World Heritage by UNESCO and famous for an unusual and fantastic scenery. This tour takes you to discover the towns of Amarante, Régua and Pinhão and even gives you the opportunity to have a wine tasting of Port.

We set off towards Amarante and its traditional streets where we breathe in History and Heritage.  The trip continues onto Régua, with a quick stop at an observation point in Mesão Frio. It was from Peso da Régua that, in past centuries, the typical Rabelo boats transported the barrels of wine to Vila Nova de Gaia. And this story can be witnessed in the Douro House, with its stained glass where you can see portrayed the history of the Douro Demarcated Wine Region. The Railway Station, where the first train arrived in 1879, is a must-visit. We leave for Pinhão and, once there, we suggest a walk along the river bank, a quick visit to the train station, with its typical tiles, and then on to an estate and Port wine tasting in 'Quinta do Tedo'.

The Dão Wine Region is Portugal´s best kept secret. The region is full of castles and manor houses that give it a Bordeaux feeling. Considered by most as the Saint Emilion of Portugal, the region is perfect. Hectars of vineyards, 2 mountain ranges and the Serra da Estrela (Continental Portugal´s highest mountain range) give it a romantic feel.  The region is home to producers since 1788 and produces the most stunning wines. It is home to Touriga Nacional (red grape) and Encruzado (white grape). It was a forgotten region until de 1980´s when it began to reborn. Now it is home to the traditional and modern takes on Dão Wines. The food is also to die for! Full of stews, hearty meats and of course bacalhau and octopus. Douro Valley is often very expensive for the majority of the people, and usually because you always have everything included, and sometimes, things you don’t really want/need.. In this experience I want you to have the chance to visit he very best of Douro Valley but with the chance to add/reduce things according to your interests/wallet. First stop will be in the most amazing view point in Douro Valley and then we will drive through the vineyeards until Régua for a very typical lunch (optional, 15 euro/pax) After lunch we will have a 3 wine tasting in one of the most beautiful wine cellars in Douro Valley just by Douro River. After the wine tasting we will drive to Pinhão in one of the most beautiful roads in the world always close to the scenic view of Douro river surrounded for the vineyards. Once in Pinhão you will have the chance to do 1 hour cruise in the typical boats that where bringing the wine from Douro Valley to Porto city (optional, 10Euro/pax)
