Visby is one of Scandinavia's preeminent medieval cities. Every August, it hosts its medieval week, complete with authentic dress, feasts and jousting. But you don’t need to visit Visby in August to get a sense of its medieval history. Just follow the cobblestone streets that wind throughout the city, take a tour of its Old Town and visit the 13th-century church. You certainly can’t miss the 13th-century wall that stretches three kilometers around the city and was once used as the city’s defense from intruders.

A marvelous museum. Larger than you'd expect and with well-designed displays, presenting Gotland's history from formation over 400 million years ago, to viking times, through the medieval period and on, showing vast arrays of remains and objects telling the story. Information is available in Swedish and English throughout the museum. Highly recommended for anyone with the slightest interest in history

Visby’s City Wall is an iconic structure that surrounds the essence of the Old Town. The most impressive part is that it is largely complete with a range of towers, turrets, and gateways. This is a reminder of the wealth in the city and the need to protect it from invaders. A magical part of the city today. Thanks for your vote.

Great big cathedral! Definitely worth the visit but adds to it visiting the old ruin in combination. There are some nice places around it to, walking through the botanical garden, visiting the cathedral and then the stairs up to a good view over the city. Recommend a visit here and the walk around it! Fun fact, Gotland has 92 churches so anyone who likes visiting them will see plenty during their stay.

One of the best experience's ever. This ~20000 yr old cave is very well preserved. The interesting facts and stories shared by the tour guide was so captivating I came back home reading about it. 5stars to the cave. A the lack of transport options could be a problem if the trip is not planned to that granularity. One's having their own vehicles shouldn't miss this experience at any cost.
