The most popular beach resort in the country, Vina del Mar is within reach of both Santiago and Valparaiso. Vina teems with tourists during peak months December, January and February, despite Antarctic currents that make swimming a formidable prospect. Renaca is the hippest spot to sink onto the sands. The Fonck Museum and Quinta Vergara provide insights into the area's recent and ancient history, archaeology and natural history. Stroll along Avenida Peru and take in stunning ocean views.

Did this trip in February. To sum it up it consists of 11 hours in a minivan to visit three churches in Chiloe, none of them is interesting unless you are an academic interested in the technical details of wooden church building in the mid 19th century. However good the guides are (and our guide was excellent) this piece of Chile is not worth visiting. The drive to Castro in Chiloe island comprises a 70km motorway run to a ferry and then more than two hours driving along a scruffy, semi industrialised road with no redeeming features to Castro. On arrival the only logical question is "why bother". There are so many beautiful places in Chile I would suggest that people give this excursion a swerve and prevent the total waste of a day of their lives.

During our recent pre-cruise visit to Santiago we were put in touch with Ollagua travel by our hotel..Patricio was our driver/guide and he was very courteous, punctual and accommodating. One day he took us to a couple of wineries and the next day he gave us a quick tour of Santiago's historic center and Patio Bellavista before driving us to San Antonio to take our cruise. We were very pleased with his services and would recommend him to anyone that needs such services.

Tour date: Dec 12, 2020. Our tour with Alex, an enthusiastic Cuban native that speaks English well and has a great interest in history and traveling, was excellent. His knowledge of Valparaíso, from its foundation to its current state is great. What is especially interesting is his extensive knowledge of the different street art and murals. The Chilean people express their political desires, discontent and scandals through graffiti and Alex shows how to read these beautiful paintings. All is done in a safe, entertaining and very friendly manner, which makes us recommend this tour highly to anyone. Thank you Alex!

Enjoyed the scenery, and culture within the community. It missed out on the 4 star review because the hygiene and service could be improved drastically. To further enhance improvements, I would recommend that this is fit for a family of 4, as it depends on your tour. The tour around the city is spetacular, but the wine tours need to be further enhanced. Anyways, I enjoyed most of the experience.

Excellent service! Driver (Jorge) was on time and was a pleasure to travel with. Communication was great when arranging the trip and confirming pickup. Jorge did a great job negotiating traffic to avoid delays. (Other people we met who did the same trip complained of long waits in traffic, while we had none!). Highly recommended!

Gabriel and this wine tour were nothing short of amazing. After being cooped up in Santiago for 2 weeks due to quarantine requirements, it was such a welcome relief to get out and see more of this beautiful country. Gabriel is a wonderful host to the country he is so proud of, and is very conscious and respectful of any and all Covid restrictions/requirements. He speaks perfect English and is knowledgeable about all things Chile, not just wine, including music, food and geography. I enjoyed Gabriel and the tour so much I arranged a 5 day ad hoc tour of the region...one of the most authentic and enjoyable vacations I’ve been on. I highly recommend you book this tour and any other offered by Gabriel.

You will have time to visit local stores or even to enjoy coffee, ice cream or churros. You will not be a number in a large group, but a new friend for us. Isaac was a fabulous guide and very knowledgeable about seemingly everything in Valparaiso. We learned so much in the hours we spent with him and he also has a great personality. We really enjoyed him very much. I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in seeing and learning about Valparaiso.
