Leaving the big wineries aside, you will visit 2 local family wineries. Kick off at a local Cava producer in the majestic hills of Subirats. One of the family members Marçal can show you around the property while explaining the secrets of Cava making. After tasting 3 different Cavas, you will get to know more about the local wines in an organic winery near Vilafranca del Penedès. Become familiar with organic winemaking and the biodynamic techniques used. The tasting includes at least 3 different wines to choose from. As Penedes is also known for its traditional cuisine, it will be time to head for some of Catalonia's best tapas. Then with our bellies full we will drive back to Barcelona where I will drop you off at your accommodation.

You will be picked up in a private vehicle from your hotel and after a 1-hour drive approximately you will have reached Montserrat. Once you arrive to Montserrat, you will visit the Moreneta, one of the two catalonian patron saints, together with Sant Jordi.  You will learn all the historic and religious background of this site and by the end of this experience you will understand why this unique area has been a pilgrimage site in Spain. If you go during the week, you will enjoy hearing the coral kids of Montserrat at 13:00, one of the oldest kids chorus in Europe. You will have some free time to eat something on the restaurant that Montserrat offers, or a place of your choice near the area, and then your driver and guide will take you to a winery in the Penedes area.
