Sam Merriefield has more space after the epidemic. The Community Lounge idea seems to have taken off, it's a new direction for the library. The meeting rooms are still available, book early if you want to usse them. By the way, there is free wifi, it's very popular. Parking is not usually a problem, especially on weekends and after hours.

The fourth most popular library in the world and the busiest in Australia, State Library Victoria is a must-visit Melbourne icon. Dating back to 1856, the State Library boasts incredible heritage architecture, free exhibitions, programs and events. Experience the majestic domed La Trobe Reading Room – one of the city’s most magnificent and photographed spaces. Enjoy free exhibitions showcasing some of the Library’s most precious treasures from its collection of more than five million items. And visit the recently opened redeveloped spaces including two new reading rooms and the Russell Street Welcome Zone – a vibrant lounge and meeting space that includes a stunning artwork spanning a 29x5 metre wall by Melbourne artist Tai Snaith. Free entry and wi-fi available. Relax before or after your visit at one of the two onsite cafes.
This is a historical building full of hidden delights Wander it free and look at the art works on display, the gorgeous architecture and the history tour of melbourne and australia as you ascend the various floors of information. We spent about 2 hours in this building and still think we missed some things.

This was opened on October 29 2015 with a refurbishment of Eastland. The previous libary was puled down. It has a cafeteria and Maroondah City Council offices on the ground floor and library on the first floor. On the second floor are workshops and maybe after corona is finished a walk way to the new Maroondah Council offices. Half the computers are closed due to corona but their is still usually plenty. The library is not closed between 1-00Pm and 2-00Pm now for cleaning and there is no one there to make sure you sign in as before you needed to be signed in if no mobile. The first library in Warrandyte Road is now Vic Roads offices

This library has the best of views in my opinion and the perfect place to sit & read the current issue of one of several magazines or a book while overlooking the parkland and lake. Access to parking from either Jells or Ferntree Gully Roads.

Preston Library is in Gower St, just off High St,.near the Town Hall. The LIbrary has a wide range of newspapers, including foreign language newspapers. The library also has computers for public use. The monograph copllection is quite extensive (that is, it has lots of books). The Library has a meeting room which can be hired. By the way, it is quite easy to join the library if you have a local connection.Preston Library is a good library for quiet reading and is also useful for research.
