Located to the north of the city, Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery is a peaceful place with a rich local history that can be discovered via a heritage walk. While the cemetery is mostly full, there are a number of memorial options available. The Friends of Coburg Cemetery takes an active interest in the rich history of the cemetery and the area it serves, and runs historical tours from time to time.
Motorists driving down Bell Street, the great artery connecting Melbourne's western and eastern suburbs, may notice a field of shrines and gravestones. This is Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery. Unlike other states, such as Western Australia, these burial plots are maintained for eternity. The plots are not reused, though other family members may be added to the grave. Burials began in 1858 and by 1971, the cemetery had reached capacity. The graves have a great array of memorials and many people, both humble and notable, are interred here. The entrance is off Bell Street, visitors are welcome.

We enjoyed a great afternoon at Little Lon. The masterclass presented by Lyndon was informative, interesting and filled with stories of the area and gin. With a G & T to start, tasting of each of the gins that Little Lon produces and a cocktail to finish - this is an experience that I would recommend highly.

The Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail is an iconic 39 km recreation trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The trail follows the path of the historical railway line through the stunning Yarra Valley commencing at the rear of the Lilydale Railway Station and finishing in the Warburton township.Follow the 'Warburton Trail' through vineyards, beautiful mountain scenery, farmlands and forests. Cross the many restored bridges. Meander past remnants of the former station platforms and stop in at the original 1882 railway station, also known as the Upper Yarra Museum. The Rail Trail's gentle gradients make it ideal for all levels of fitness including families. Access to the trail is free for the public, however permits may be required for events.
Well worth it, I did this ride starting in Lilydale to Warburton. From warburton I added the Aqueduct trail which runs along the mountain just above Warburton, total 90ks. Amazing scenery, I’d class this as an easy ride, the only step part is the climb to the Aqueduct section. Highly recommend to future cyclists...

This park is the jewel and well worth a visit, beautiful kept garden with plenty of pathways for a nice walk and gardens to admire. The viewing tower is a great climb for those able to walk up and down many many steps, the view from the top of Bendigo is well worth it. (go on a weekday not weekend) If have children there is plenty of space for them to run around.

We went there in the afternoon but the weather was not kind to us. However, me and the kids enjoyed our time there. The view is great, there are many cafes and restaurants around the gardens. There is also bollards which can come alive if you install their apps.

Natural bush walking tracks are a feature of Lyrebird Forest Walk. 3 walks of differing nature and topography give all walkers the experience they desire. From the River Walk featuring temperate rainforest to the more demanding Coral Fern gully and Warriors Walk, there is an experience for all walkers. Only 4 kms from the picturesque town of Mirboo North, yet a quiet haven.
