Marysville State Forest

Reviewed By CodyMav - Gold Coast, Australia

Heading north from Warburton, the road towards Marysville seems to climb foreever on a gentle grade, winding through a variety of landscapes, made even more interesting when you see the re-growth since the Black Saturday fires in 2009. But the highlight is clearly the thousands of tree ferns that line most of the road.

Sherbrooke Forest

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

The Mountain Ash is a tree; it is one of the tallest flowering plants on Earth. California's Sequoia's may be taller, but they are conifers. Going to the Sherbrooke Forest is worthwhile on a hot day, the Blue Dandenongs are usually a few degrees cooler than the flat lands. You may be lucky and come across a lyrebird, the birds have a uinque ability to mimic other birds.

What a wild and wonderful place to visit. Make sure you have good walking shoes as the rock formations on the path can be a little sharp. The walk is suitable for all ages and abilities. Plenty of parking available.
