With its gondolas, canals, amazing restaurants, and unforgettable romantic ambiance, Venice is definitely a city for one's bucket list. Waterfront palazzos, palaces, and churches make drifting down the Grand Canal feel like cruising through a painting. To really experience Venice you must go to the opera or to a classical music performance, nibble fresh pasta and pastries, and linger in the exhibit halls of an art gallery. Label lovers will drool over the high-end shopping in Piazza San Marco.

The Rétro was opened in order to offer visitors a unique experience in Venice: a peaceful place to relax accompanied by good jazz in an old-fashioned atmosphere. In addition to a selection of regional wines, we also offer beers, cocktails, a selection of high-quality cold cuts and cheeses, as well as coffee and artisanal cakes.
It's not that easy to find (locate the Church Santi Apostoli, get around to its back and enter the little alleyway) but it was definitely worth a visit. Comfy chairs, elegant interior, Jazz music and an excellent cheese platter - this place is highly recommended and we will certainly pay it another visit in the future!

Wine bar e cicchetteria di via Garibaldi, Venezia. Un piccolo angolo di relax e divertimento a due passi dalla biennale, dove i gusti storici di Venezia e i trend dell'era moderna s'incontrano!

Stopped in for a drink in the evening. Didn’t really want to leave! Was quiet at first, but began to get busy as the night progressed. Wine was wonderful. The outside area with the lanterns was lovely, only a bit too cold and rainy to sit out the night we visited. Waiter bought us plenty of snacks and some complimentary chichetti which we devoured and approved highly of! Would love to see this bar in the wonderful sun with a seat outdoors, so will have to return one day!
