Short but appealing guided visit designed to uncover all the secrets of the most exclusive Veronese monument and also to provide history enthusiasts with the chance to deeply experience the Roman age in the most spectular of the buildings raised in those days which in Verona is still rather well preserved. When was build such an amphytheatre? How long was it used for? How did the gladiatorial fight shows work? Were beasts and Christians used for the shows too? What happened to it in medieval times? How come is it still in relatively good conditions? When did they start to use it again for entertainment? Why is it today the biggest Roman amphytheatre in the world? These are the main questions which will find a proper answer during our visit.

Never mind the doge: insatiable curiosity rules Venice, and inside its Natural History Museum it runs wild. Visit the Fondaco dei Turchi, the building hosting the museum, reflecting its history as a noble palace until the Dukes of Ferrara were elbowed aside in 1621 to make room for Venice's most important and controversial trading partner: Turkey. Admire the stars of the museum are the spotlit dinosaurs, including a terrifying ouransaurus from the Sahara and a Ptissacosaurus mongoliensis, a 120 million years old baby dinosaur skeleton from Gobi desert. Follow the tracks of Venetian explorers when adventurers like Marco Polo fetched peculiar specimen from distant lands. Around every turn scientific marvels await discovery in luminous new exhibits, such as the 19th century Wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities) and a bubbling fish tank that represent the whole fragile ecosystem we live in.

Como, the largest city in this region. Along the way we are regularly treated to beautiful views of small villages on the other side of the lake. The radiant sun makes it even more idyllic, but otherwise there is little to do in this region (at this time of year).
