Vayots Dzor (Armenian: Վայոց Ձոր, Armenian pronunciation: [vɑjˌɔt͡sʰ ˈd͡zɔɾ] ( listen)), is a province of Armenia. It lies at the southeastern end of the country, bordering the Nakhichevan exclave of Azerbaijan in the west and the Kalbajar District (de jure part of Azerbaijan, de facto controlled by the unrecognized Artsakh Republic) in the east. It covers an area of 2,308 km (891 sq mi). With a population of only 53,230 (2002 census), it is the most sparsely populated province in the country. The capital and largest city of the province is the town of Yeghegnadzor.

This monastery dates from the 13th century and is completely different from other Armenian monasteries. "Noravank" means "new", so this the the "New Monastery". On its first floor, the mausoleum of Prince Burtel Orbelian and his family. Right on its façade, a narrow stone-made staircase (very dangerous, I must say) leads to the upper floor and to "Surb Astvatsatsin", the "Holy Mother of God Church"! It is a major religious and cultural center in Armenia and its visit could be combined with the one to "Khor Virap Monastery", as both monasteries are not very far from each other. Enjoy!

We welcome wine-lovers for authentic wine-tasting experience. Started at 1998 Old Bridge was one of the first boutique wines of independent Armenia.
We visited the Old Bridge Winery with couple of friends and spent the time of our lives! The owners are the most hospitable and friendly people in Armenia. The food tast and the presentation are on another level! Ohhh their wine??? In the top 3% of the world with its gold medal!
