Vashon is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington, United States. It covers an island alternately called Vashon Island or Vashon-Maury Island, the largest island in Puget Sound south of Admiralty Inlet. The population was 10,624 at the 2010 census and the size is 37 square miles (96 km). There are no bridges to connect the island with the mainland, and this contributes to the island's relative isolation and rural character.

The views were beautiful! I stopped a few times to simply admire the mountain across the way. I am not sure how close I got to the beach, since I had a call to return to pick up my husband. Going down is so much easier than going back up. Thankful for the switchbacks as it is rather steep. I would love to do this hike again when I have more time.

Cute little town, scenic place to drive around. Passed some time on a rainy day in Tacoma. I was impressed by how quick and easy it was to ride the ferry from Point Defiance; probably 10 minutes max.

Historic Vacation Rentals at Point Robinson Lighthouse on Vashon Island. Stay with us in one of the two Keepers' Quarters.
Thoroughly enjoyed this park. There was a great view of Mt. Rainier and saw some porpoises breaching off the beach. Some interesting history too.
