The first company town in BC, the village was the site of a brick manufacturing plant founded in 1905. Today many original homes exist, as well as the village store, church and schoolhouse. The museum fills the basement of the 1908 schoolhouse with period artefacts, detailed model of the brick plant and village, and a history of the community's residents. Self guided walking tour.

Lytton’s unique Chinese History Museum honours the contributions made in BC’s Interior by thousands of Chinese miners, railway workers, merchants and farmers. It sits proudly on a provincially recognized heritage site that once housed the Lytton Joss House (1881-1928). Open by appointment from October to May. Please contact the Museum for details.

Welcome to the Roedde family's home. Gustav and Matilda Roedde settled in Vancouver in 1888. Gustav opened the first bookbinding business in Vancouver and by 1893 was successful enough to afford to build a house in the new West End neighbourhood. Roedde House, attributed to famed architect Francis Rattenbury, is a City of Vancouver-designated Class A Heritage House. Since 1980, the Roedde House Preservation Society has taken painstaking care to renovate and furnish the house to reflect the ambience of late Victorian family life. Feel free to walk into every room; you will even be invited to touch some artefacts. Come in and experience life in the late 19th century for yourself.
Jen was a great tour guide and the history of the family was amazing. The house was beautifully restored and full of interesting artefacts. My wife and I couldn’t recommend it more

Our drop-in tour hours are from 1-4 PM Monday-Friday. Trethewey House Heritage Site is operated by Heritage Abbotsford Society, a registered non-profit. Our mission is to collect, record, preserve and share the stories of Abbotsford. We offer a range of programs and experiences including site tours, exhibits, historical Abbotsford walking tours, and more - all by donation. The Heritage Site consists of Trethewey House, Joey's Playhouse, the Upper Sumas Train Station, a Heritage Gallery, and the Sylvia Pincott Heritage Habitat Garden. Trethewey House was built in 1919-1920 by Joseph Ogle "J.O." Trethewey. As President of the Abbotsford Lumber Company, J.O. was responsible for leadership of the company during the company's boom years in the 1920s. The House is built in the local Craftsman style and was constructed using primarily local materials, making it distinct from other buildings of similar age within the City of Abbotsford.

An amazing museum in the tiny town of Egmont. It's by donation and has many interesting artifacts. It is located right across from the trail head to go to Skookumchuck Narrows and has washrooms and drinks for sale. Also check out the second hand store at the bottom of the municipal hall while in Egmont - it's also by donation.
