I showed up with a group of friends, 6 of us total, and it was fantastic. Our server was Jodi and she was incredibly friendly, polite, well informed on all the beer and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. I particularly enjoyed the Zunga and the Suncoast Pale Ale. I'd recommend that anyone that visits Powell River needs to check out Townsite. It's been a while since I had service as great as Jodi provided and a beer as refreshing after having hiked 80+ km's along the Sunshine Coast Trail. Loved it there.

Fort Berens Estate Winery

Fort Berens Estate Winery is a culmination of the dreams, vision and pioneering spirit of several entrepreneurs. It was founded with a pioneering spirit and forged on the road less traveled. The winery is owned by a team of eight individuals who share a common belief in the incredible winemaking potential of British Columbia’s Fraser Canyon and a shared vision to make Fort Berens into one of Canada’s leading producers of fine wine.

As a local, I'm happy to have source of "far above average" wine. Summers are great on the terrace. They are still looking for a permanent chef de cuisine. So far, so good. Several of the cooks hired made very enjoyable meals. Of their wines, my favourites reds are the Cabernet Franc - super in all vintages, and the Pinot Noir - some years better than others. The Riesling is world class, and worth a trip on it's own.

White Rock Beach Beer Company

Reviewed By F3117HCthomasm - White Rock, Canada

White Rock Beach Beer is a great friendly place. They spin good tunes on vinyl and have live music. Beers are porter, brown ale, pale ale, pilsner (also in cans), also sometimes hefeweizen and red ale. There are always a guest tap or two. Red or white wine plus kombucha is also served. Great beachy vibe which is a local hangout. Private parties can be booked. During the summer the White Rock Farmers Market is right outside their door. WRBB is dog and child friendly.
