We visited the ISKCON temple on Diwali day to seek blessings of the almighty. The temple was beautifully decorated with lamps and there was a lovely Rangoli at the entrance. All the idols of the lord - Shri Radha Krishna, Shri Jagannath,Balram & Subhadra devi were beautifully decorated. The mahaprasad was awesome. They also have a lovely restaurant called Govinda where one can have superb vegetarian food. Must visit place for one and all !!!

This temple is located in cantonment area like Hanuman Temple of Ahmedabad. The vehicle has to be parked outside and one needs to walk 200-300 meters to reach the temple. Id card has to be submitted at the gate. The walk is in the peaceful and serene cantonment area which is a great experience. It's open till 8 PM. Its a must visit place of Vadodara.

The only temple , dedicated to the mighty Sun God, is located opposite the GPO Post Office. Has a small garden attached to it, however the garden is not well maintained. The temple is supposed to be more than 100 years old which is reflected in its structure. a place to visit in the mornings and evenings.

A trip to Vadodra or Baroda is incomplete without darshan to Lord Kuber at Chanod, Karnali's Kuber Bhandari temple and Pavagadh Kali Mata temple Shakti Peeth over 2 days. Kuber Bhandari temple is southern side towards Rajpipla, Bharuch on banks of Narmada river Triveni Sangam ghat. From Vadodra its 1.5 to 2 hours drive. I was with family put up at Country Club 2 nights at Golden Chowkdi on Mumbai National Highway passing Vadodra. We took private vehicle to do Kuber temple and next day Pavagadh. This diverts off national highway towards Rajpipla to reach Chanod. One can do Chanod Kuber and Statue of Unity nearby another 2 hour drive together easily if pressed for time in 2-3 days. Need a private vehicle this area for faster travel though Govt Bus service is well connected on routes. We took light breakfast and found the road through green trees and farms to Chanod. Eating local fruits with salt-chilli masala in winter on road sides is more fun on way. We found no quality restaurants at all not even proper restaurants frankly. For Chanod you need cross Narmada river by a ferry boat to temple. A short 2 minute walk to boating area from Chanon bank. Chanod boat ferry is cheaper with more family members can private rent one. Its a 10-15 minute boat ride to temple across river and you can see bathing and samshan ghats passing by. The sandy river bank is a great break to bath and relax. The temple has a good number of steps 100+ to climb so senior citizens need be careful. The temple is old and historical and has some mini temples inside complex. I recommend taking a holy dip off Narmada before boarding the boat to temple and be clean for worshiping. Carry spare clothes for such a bath. Chanod village has less eating options frankly speaking so carrying decent food is advised. You can have food cooked at Swaminarain Temple on early arrival request and darshan. Then have food after darshan on return. Best to have lunch if visiting late morning-afternoon. Afternoon town is shut down and deserted. When we returned afternoon we found nothing to eat and were hungry. I regret not having a heavy breakfast so can recommend same and some food carry along. On return to Vadodra from Chanod we diverted to Anusuya Mata temple nearby some 15-20 kms diversion on route. Anusuya Mata temples are known to bless childless couples. The mud around this temple is believe to have curative properties for skin diseases. One can do a darshan there. I strongly recommend it if you have come so far. My family was very hungry itw as almost 4 PM as we could not find good lunch at Chanod we found a village wedding outside Anusuya temple we ate there without invitation and gifted token cash to groom's family. That was something.
