Contrary to some reviews, the darshan was peaceful and hassle--free. We entered through the main entrance on a narrow lane and had a glimpse of the lord's idol in fifteen minutes. I learnt that Sundays and holidays are crowded here. Better to go on week days. The atmosphere is pious and calm. Dress code for men is in place.

Excellent architecture, good place to visit with family. The stone idols and the Shivalinga are a must see when visiting this part of the state.

Its almost 1.5 to 2 hours ride from Gokarna main beach. Even the ride is enjoyable. Once you reach, You need to walk for 15 minutes to the falls. It was not much crowded when we visited. I insist everybody to go under the waterfall If you even know a bit of swimming. It was an amazing experience for us. Do carry some extra inners. (But I didn't)????

This is a virgin beach ... Please do not expect any food or drink. Carry your own. Not much crowded ..Peaceful and can have a nice view of beach with scenic background ...But there are no much facilities. We stayed in Jungle Lodges and enjoyed a lot...You can do Paragliding..Many corals and shells can be found at the beach..walk by the beach would be memorable one.. Very clean and serene beach..awesome sunset...

The MUSEUM on top of the hill is in a cave and under the Huge Siva statue and is named as ‘Bhukailash’. There is an entry ticket of Rs 10/- and it is closed from 1 to 3pm. The cave museum contains a number of life size figures depicting the entire story behind the ‘Atma linga’ of Lord Siva and the Temple, Ravana’s tapas and getting Atma Linga and futile effort to take it to Srilanka. These are quite interesting. Some of these photos are uploaded. I

There is a huge statue of Lord Shiva and a very tall gopuram and temple which is a must visit alongside the Murudeshwar beach. It is surrounded on three sides by the Arabian sea and the location is very scenic. The entrance to the temple is a twenty storied high gopuram known as the Raja Gopuram, which is guarded by the statues of two large elephants. The main temple devoted to Shri Rameshwara is at the feet of the giant Shiva statue which is the second tallest Shiva statue in the world. The entry to the sanctum sanctorum of the main temple is banned for all devotees and we could only view the main deity, the Sri Mridesa Linga, which is believed to be a piece of the original Atma Linga, by standing at the threshold of the sanctum. It is dark inside the sanctum sanctorum and only illuminated by the oil lamps held by the priests. Outside the temple is a park with more interesting statues, the most interesting one being the Sun Chariot. The temple opens at 6 am and closes at 8.30 pm. It is also closed for lunch from 1 pm to 3 pm. There are three main pujas during the day; morning 6.30 to 7.30 am, afternoon 12.15 to 1 pm and night 7.15 to 8.15 pm.

Very ancient temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. Located 23 kms from Sirsi. Temple closes at about 1pm in the afternoon and reopens only by 4pm so please ensure you either reach before or after. 1pm onwards clean anna prasad is served to all who visit the temple. The diety is supposed to be a "udbhava murty" and a great Saint during the 9th century was gifted this due to his meditational powers. Some say this is the moola vigraha meaning the one and only source of the form of the Lord and all other deities were cloned from this form including the one at Tirupati. On the day of Manjuguni rathotsava sometime near Ugadi festival the main temple in Tirumala is closed and believed that venkateshwara will visit this template on that day. Must visit. Beautiful temple well maintained and very clean. Must visit and you will love this place surrounded by greenery.
