You can't miss this, it's on the main road, the only main road. Free to enter, but there is a donation box. This replica Viking dwelling gives you a great idea of how people lived and survived as a community. Having the replica boat nearby is a bonus.

This dark forbidding place clearly shows the builders intent to defend and impose in the area. Although torches are provided outside, your phone light will suffice. The ground floor has little light and low doors so beware! You can’ feel the spirits and history- stand still and listen quietly tothe the wind buffeting the fortress.
