I am very lucky, to live within walking distance, lived in Ascot for over 32 years, but only discovered the internal tarmac track within Ascot race track - The Heath - only 2 years ago for walking the dogs. The circuit is 1.2 miles approx and with a little incline to make you work a little (cardio) and takes about 25 - 40 mins, depending on pace. Social distancing observed obviously. Recommended, lots of sky to take in and It gives you a mindful lift, in normal times coffee shops, eateries and bakers in High Street. Entrance through Ascot High Street and Winkfield Rd by Walkway tunnels under the grass track.

Musselburgh Racecourse is a Visit Scotland 5 Star venue and named one of their top-rated visitor attractions offering fantastic value days out for all ages. With 29 race meetings a year there is always something to look forward whether you are looking for our Sell out Ladies Day, or great value Family days, with loads of free entertainment for children or the perfect stag or hen night at our Party Nights! We can offer a choice or places to eat and drink at the racecourse catering for all budgets.
Ive visited nearly every racecourse in the UK. I love the sport. Had my first visit to Musselburgh on Monday. One of the friendliest and well thought out racecourses I've visited. It's a 15 minutes taxi from Edinburgh. Our Uber cost £16. Im sure the train and bus are cheaper but why bother with the hassle. Whilst its a fairly compact and small racecourse. The whole place is modern, tidy and fresh. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We booked a table in the bistro restaurant downstairs. The menu, service, atmosphere, food and price was ALL excellent. Ok it wasn't an especially busy race meeting but my experience was wonderful. Even had a few winners! The high street is literally a 2 minute walk away, every thing you need is there before/after racing. Only slight negative is the bar area / any indoor area could do with a slight expansion.

A visit to Beverley Racecourse is a seriously good day out, a fact that the people of Beverley have been quite rightly proud of for over 300 years. Set in the stunning surroundings of The Westwood, the racecourse hosts horse racing between April and September every year. We have 19 race meetings in total, 11 of which feature extra entertainment and fun, from the family-themed May Day with a petting zoo and funfair rides to the glamour of Ladies' Day. For the racing fan, our Very British Raceday in June with its two feature races for the country's best two-year-old horses sees them battle it out in a fast and furious contest up our infamous uphill 5 furlong sprint (a furlong being about 660 feet for the as-yet uninititated.) There's always a warm welcome at Beverley, and whether you prefer to bring the family with a picnic and a rug or your friends for an afternoon of fun and catching up, you'll find lots of like-minded people enjoying the day and the excitement of watching your horse thundering home. Tickets in advance are much the cheapest way to visit and can be bought via our website, along with lots more information about all of our racedays. Many racecourses could learn from Ripon Made welcome to bring in a picnic, with a reasonable amount of alcohol (4 cans per person) area for your own chairs near the rails, area set aside for everyone to go up to the rails. Very friendly staff, plenty of tables and chairs in other areas. Park for children away from bookies. Lovely clean toilets, plenty of rubbish bins, staff going around regularly emptying them, very little rubbish left around Really good day out - see you again

Cheltenham Racecourse is the Home of Jump Racing hosting the world famous "Festival™ presented by Magners" in March every year. As well as racing we host concerts, comedy nights, weddings and business events.
Was so lucky to have been to this fabulous race course on 14th March St. Patrick's day Thursday at the festival. Every bit of the course is top class, really well organised and all the staff were brilliant. We was in the Club enclosure so brilliant view, really friendly atmosphere. It was my 1st time at horse racing so even if you have like me never been to the race's I truly recommend the Cheltenham festival. The horses are stunning. During the festival there is a vast amount of stalls, bars and shopping.

Racing has been taking place at Cartmel since 1856. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful English Lake District, Cartmel Races rekindles the spirit of the original steeplechases, attracting large crowds who gather within the centre of the racecourse for picnics, parties and a flutter on the horses. The two public enclosures offer a great variety of viewing and hospitality options, from relaxed picnics to fine dining. During race meetings, racegoers can browse the shopping and food outlets, and enjoy fairground entertainment. A great place for family and friends to gather, the events are both social and informal in nature. The surfaces are predominately grass parkland - high heels are not ideal! Outside of the racing calendar, the iconic Cartmel Racecourse becomes a splendid venue for a range of corporate and social events and functions. As a licensed wedding venue, Cartmel Racecourse also provides a truly unique setting for a wedding celebration. Cartmel Racecourse is easily accessible, located just 20 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6 motorway.
Came here for the May Bank Holiday Meetings and was amazed. We have been to quite a few racecourses but this was a real experience, never been to one like this one. it was fabulous, a real party atmosphere with fun fair and bbq's and everyone is allowed to take there own food and drink and have a picnic if they wish. You can't see a lot of the course when the horses are racing but it is still great fun and very entertaining. We were very lucky and got fabulous weather but unfortunately if you don't get the weather then this lovely little course would be a wash out. We really loved it so we are going back next year.
