National parkland consisting of 383,220 acres of various landscapes, including highlands, coastal lowlands, swamps, springs, lakes and ponds.
Ocala National Forest is a gem waiting to be explored! You can spend the afternoon, day, and weeks in this gorgeous, and huge, state park. It has it all in terms of real natural beauty, from hiking to canoeing, to bird watching, to biking, and swimming in incredible natural springs! We canoed for 4 hours in Alexander Springs which was beautiful beyond words. We saw all sorts of water fowl, large turtles all over the banks, and even a 6-foot gator. Just 10 minutes ahead of us they saw a black bear fishing in the water. After this gorgeous spring we drove to Silver Glen Springs and swam (& cooled off!) in this awesome natural spring! It was remarkable swimming with thousands of beautiful fish and I only wished I had brought my GoPro! Don't miss the mind-boggling beauty of the Ocala National Forest!

We toured the lake, both on the east side and again on the north side, saying next to the shore line when the road permitted. Many parks, beautiful places to walk, and scenery for the camera. Each trip took about1/2 a day. Well worth the time.

Nice place to visit and relax, it will be better when the repairs from hurricane Irma is finished and things get back to normal.

We celebrated a late Father's Day here!! Heard good things about it. Right on the edge of Ocala National Forest. We had the entire lake and beach to ourselves. Water was clear, refreshing, and cool. About $5 per person to get in. Will return. Considered camping, but not a lot to do except chill which isn't bad, but we have teenagers. Limited power and water at sites.

I visited Mount Dora this past Dec.2017. First time there. Great place for family and relaxation. If you love history, antiques, great food from around the world, this is a great place to visit. It is small town just 2 hours north of Orlando. We went during Christmas which is the best time to go. The decorations are out of this world. There is Sea food, French food, German, Mexican, Cuban and American. It is a melting pot of cultures. There are actuall hills in the roads that is a rare site in Florida. Many antiques shops and museum. Mount dora Lake is very popular. You can take a 2 hour tour all around the lakes and the canals. You can see the beautiful homes and many wild life. Even bald Eagles nesting if you look up in the trees. Must visit the museum of speed if you want to go back in time. If you love cars as my son does, this will take your breath away. The actual owner give you the tours if you want. Great stories and history of how thing were. Driving time from Miami 6.5 hours. There are many beautiful Inns and suites in the Mount Dora Town which are a little pricing. But you can get a hotel in 441 which is 5 to 10 min away for a very reasonable price including breakfast. Must go to Reginers frea Market. You can find anything and everything. We spent around $300 worth of collectibles and antiques. Happy vacation

This is a beautiful park that is well-maintained, right on Lake Eustis. There are lots of benches and even on a hot and humid day, a long chat on a bench under a tree and by the water was very comfortable with the shade and a breeze off the lake. Places for kids to play, an outdoor theater, lots of walking paths.

Family owned and operated citrus/Florida retail store and gift shop. Seasonal fruit available. Lots of Florida made items. Sno-Biz shaved ice. Soft serve ice cream. Home of the iconic Big Orange.
Sunsational Citrus is a MUST STOP if you are traveling through or around Umatilla Florida. This beautiful country store offers more than gifts.... Everyone needs to stop by and take their picture with the Iconic "Big Orange", grab a gallon of the AMAZING fresh orange juice and have an unforgettable citrus swirl ice cream cone (I promise you can't have just one.
The store is also filled with CITRUS HISTORY- you will see old packing labels and boxes, different types of juicing machines, picking bags, old pictures, and the different tools utilized by the producers 30 plus years ago to name a few.
The family that runs the store is very passionate about the citrus industry and wants to share their experiences and enthusiasm with their patrons.
Sunsational citrus is a great place to take visitors, a great place to take the kids for ice cream or a snow cone and you can not beat the best juice around. I love this little country store and highly recommend it to people of all ages- they have something everyone will enjoy!!!!

Antiques Center Open Fridays 10 to 4, Saturdays & Sundays 9 to 5.Farmers & Flea Sat. & Sun 8 to 4
Our friends took us here for the day when we were visiting. Be prepared to walk. There are vendors galore here. If you can find what you are looking for it doesn't exist. There is a antique center here and also a flea market. It totally boggles the mind. Food vendors as well, so you don't have to leave to eat and come back. The vendors that we spoke to were very friendly. Actually bought a few things, they were eager to barter. It was a great day and we enjoyed it very much.....

We went on an airboat tour with Justin 3 weeks ago. It was so much fun and very educational. Justin is funny, professional and knows so much about the area as well as being exceptionally knowledgeable about all kinds of animals.
We saw one big gator and then we stopped to see baby gators. We also saw an otter and all kinds of cool birds.
I highly recommend this tour.
