So happy to have come here. This was not a scheduled stop on our tour, so we were surprised at the visit. Well worth the time. Very moving as well as educational. I would put on a ‘don’t miss’ list. Had no idea there was a cemetery of this type in Italy.

Ancient burial ground filled with mysterious caverns and grottoes.
The best view in Cortona by my opinion, amazing Tuscany view with lake and old houses. A few benches for short rest are available.

The Cemetery is the last monument on Piazza del Duomo, its long marble wall flanking the northern boundary and completing its shape. It was founded in 1277.
This was part of our combo ticket for the Field of Miracles. It was worth it. Wonderful frescos inside, that are still being restored from WW II damage. This is a cemetery building, but also full of art. Get this on your combo ticket! It is amazingly quiet after the hustle and bustle of the outside.

a Very simple place in the sense that there are these flat graves. I found a surname I was looking for. I somehow overlook a vast aria All Germans who died. The place is well maintained. Worth to visit it. It was a few minutes away from a town called Baragazza.
