Although Tucson's fantastic weather, national parks and forests and desert provide the perfect environment for tons of outdoor recreational activities, this city of half a million people also has its share of history and culture. With a history that goes back much further than many of its southwestern neighbors, Tucson boasts turn-of-the-century architecture, historic neighborhoods, museums and the Mission San Xavier del Bac, a still-functioning 18th-century mission considered one of the most beautiful in the U.S. Mexican and Native American influences are pervasive, and the city has a distinctly Western flavor. There's also a college-town atmosphere, thanks to the University of Arizona, which has its own share of museums and a science center. Whether golfing at a world-class golf resort, horseback riding, hiking in the wilderness, discovering desert flora and fauna at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum or exploring pre-Columbian and other art at the Tucson Art Museum, you'll have a mind-boggling array of things to do.

The hubs and I like to visit local breweries whenever we visit new places. Dragoon did not disappoint! They brew many different beers and are willing to share both info and tastings. Their tasting room is a bit off the beaten path located near the rear of an office park but it’s worth the trek. Highly recommend! ????????♀️????????

Crooked Tooth brewing is set in an old 1950's auto garage, converted into a brewery and taproom. There is a large patio in back. We have food trucks every night of the week, are dog and kid friendly, and love putting beer in bellies. We focus on the "WOW" factor. We want you to put a beer in your mouth that has never been there before. We like NE IPAs, sours, fruit forward beers, and a couple traditional old school beers on tap. Typically, there are 9 beers on tap, all brewed in-house, at any given time. Cheers
Having visited this brewery often, yesterday we had their best beer yet! The Pumpkin Porter is the best in Tucson and their Sours are spot on. Their new Prickly Pear Sour was heavenly. Crooked Tooth is a family friendly establishment with a beautiful space outside. They always have local artists display their artwork and find ways of helping their community. The staff is friendly and make you feel like you are part of their family. Can’t recommend this place enough!! They even have live music and food trucks!!!!

A Tucson institution since 1962, The Maverick King of Clubs is the premier country bar noted for live music, dancing, and good times!
When we passed through Tucson, we googled country bars because we do love to country dance and we wanted something to do after the Gem Show. We were only here for a couple days but we came to the Maverick on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We were surprised to see different and various dance instructors and lessons offered every single day here. The bartenders were fabulous and so nice and welcoming - and there was live music every day that we were here and they were all different bands!! We haven't danced like that in years. Friday and Saturday is their resident band called Flipside, who were excellent and had amazing energy! Drinks were great, prices were great, the Maverick burger comes with a branding on it which was so neat and- the Best part? Their happy hour menu, the BEST!

Great live music almost every night of the month. DJ's or karaoke on the other nights. Amazing drink specials. Fun, laid back atmosphere!
