The fjords and mountain ranges of Tromso are simply magical. Here, the northern lights sparkle across the same navy blue sky that's illuminated by the midnight sun. You'll be spellbound by Tromso's enchanting fishing villages, fragrant botanical gardens and crystalline waterfalls. Music is a major part of the Tromso culture, particularly techno and electronic music, which adds some thumping thunder to the city once a year during the annual Insomnia Festival.

The northernmost escape room in the world! You and your teammates will be given a mission and locked in a room full of codes, puzzles and cryptic leads, with 60 minutes to solve them all. Your only available tools will be creative thinking, teamwork and collaboration, and hopefully you will complete the mission before the hour is up. Bring a playful mood and an open mind!
We had John Winter office and it was really cool. The staff was super friendly and always supportive. If you are in Tromsø on a bad weather day don’t miss that place

Themes from Tromso's past and present. Challenging temporary exhibits in a magnificent villa from 1838. Documentary photo exhibits. Operates the Folkeparken open air museum
It’s free, just wander in. There were 3 really good exhibitions there when we went. Especially enjoyed the superb photos of 1960s Tromso by Knut Stokmo.

Local factory of hand blown glass, shop and small café. Located in Southern Kvaloya
Nearly drove past...so look out for the signs. Easy going cafe with some great artwork for sale. Coffee was rich and fresh. The owner told us he did the best waffles in the world. As it turns out he’s right. He also does Air BnB. I’d love to go back and discuss 1970’s rock with the owner, have a drink and just watch the world go by. Highly recommended if you are on your way past.

This is one of my favourite places to go and take visitors to Tromso. There is there an amazing Aurora video (still my favourite even after seeing it about 10 times). I love the hands on science activities that are varied and lots of fun as well as educational and informative. Best place to have fun while learning at the same time for all ages. Although many think it is more for kids I take adults and they love it too. Highly recommend.

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Tromsø tourist office for being so helpful in booking our once in a lifetime evening trip in the hope of seeing the mysterious Northern lights. The lady I’m so sorry I didn’t note your name )who helped in our plight was so understanding knowing that our previously booked trip was cancelled at the last minute due to poor weather which let us one night to see the lights before we left Tromsø. The lady was fantastic, understanding, empathetic and patient....thank you. We were truly spoilt by the spectacular display that greeted us in the booked trip. A fantastic last evening spent in beautiful Tromsø.

Been here a few times on a quiet afternoon when I ran out of idea’s of what to do. It’s great as libraries usually are and is joined to the Movie house complex and there is a great little cafe, with small meals and lovely coffee and sweets.
