The fjords and mountain ranges of Tromso are simply magical. Here, the northern lights sparkle across the same navy blue sky that's illuminated by the midnight sun. You'll be spellbound by Tromso's enchanting fishing villages, fragrant botanical gardens and crystalline waterfalls. Music is a major part of the Tromso culture, particularly techno and electronic music, which adds some thumping thunder to the city once a year during the annual Insomnia Festival.

A perfect place to experience the midnight sun and the Northern lights! The trail runs along the shoreline from the parking lot at the end of the road on Russelv and leads to a lighthouse on the northernmost point of Lyngen Peninsula. The walk takes approximately 1 hour.

Elverhøy Church was built in its current location in 1971. The church was originally built in 1803 on the site of the present Tromsø Cathedral. In 1861 the church was dismantled and moved a few hundred meters south of the city boundary. In the early 1970s, it was moved and reopened as Elverhøy Church,on one of the highest points on the island of Tromsøya. The red wooden church seats 435 people.

To get to,the Cathedral I walked over the bridge. It starts out ok from the town side and the you get higher up you have to watch how you walk. But. a lovely view from the highest point. Also fun to do if you time it right that the Hurtigruten is going under te bridge
