What to do and see in Troms, Northern Norway: The Best Hiking & Camping Tours

September 11, 2021 Frederic Celentano

From its snow-capped mountains to its mighty fjords, from grand valleys to tranquil lakes and lovely archipelagos, the county of Troms is bursting with natural wonders. To cap it off, it also plays host to the northern lights. Tromso, the capital, is the gateway to the region's rugged beauty, but with 65,000 people it's also a surprisingly rich city culturally, with many interesting museums and sites (including the world's northernmost botanical garden) and even a pulsing nightlife.

Bjorn-Marius Nedrebo

Borned and raised in the beautiful Lofoten Islands, I've allways loved the fjords, mountains and the raw and pure northern norwegian nature. I've have been living in Tromsø now for 10 years and I even though I loved my job as an occupational therapist, I quit my dayjob to pursuit the dream of meeting people in nature, exploring and experience the scenery and the fantastic northern lights! To see and feel the energy and total happiness of people seeing the lights for the first time is priceless!
