This is a small museum on one side of the main square, which is full of interest – in my case the visit was greatly enhanced by the appearance of a guide, Luis (his sister worked at the ticket desk), who gave me an enthusiastic and personal tour of the museum. Ask if he's around when you make your visit - there's not a lot to see, but that's what makes this museum so good. No overload, just full of interest, and perfect for a 30 minute visit.

I had never been here after many visits to Trinidad. It is an interesting colonial home with furnishings from the same period as the original owner took everything back to Spain. Interesting view of life in colonial Trinidad.

A great museum to visit (Trinidad has many of them) the artifacts are well kept, well displayed and the information is clear and informative. It explains a lot about the rich history of this beautiful island.

This mansion, originally the abode of the local super Don, its classical bones are sumptuous with frescoed arches, kitchen dining room and courtyard. the exhibits are excellently themed tracing the history of ‘Trinidad from the days of piracy, plantations, slavery and war of independence. There is a tower reached by a rickety staircase with a viewing platform that may question your insurance policy. The fresco covered walls are appreciated only once you are back on terra firma.

This was right up my alley. Not being a religious person at all, I like the iconic religious symbols and this did not disappoint me one bit. It helped that I had a really good guide with me who was able to explain the Goddess of Water and what Santeria and Catholicism in Cuba stands for.
