This tiny twin island republic offers an enticing mix of cultural activities and eco adventure. Located just off the tip of Venezuela, lively Trinidad, the larger of the two, boasts energetic nightlife in modern capital Port-of-Spain. Driving on the North Coast Road reveals lush forest and breathtaking views. Tobago, two hours away by fast ferry, is comparatively serene. Azure seas contrast with pale pink sands and golden sunsets. Protected rainforest and stunning coral reefs complete this paradise.

What a lovely spot to relax! We loved the breakfast there! My boyfriend had a local food breakfast (saltfish with coconut bake) which was amazing and I had pancakes with a local twist! De-licious! The staff is super friendly, too. The cook came to our table after breakfast to talk to us! Went back there a few days later for drinks and a snack: the tuna and cheese panini was to die for! Plus, there’s a little shop inside and a lovely art gallery on the second floor! Definitely worth checking out!!

"Genesis Nature Park" is a home-based, family-owned and operated Petting Zoo set in a beautiful tropical garden with an in-house Art Gallery. Our focus is conservation and education related to nature and the environment. In existence for over 16 years, we have recently added five Guest Rooms to accommodate vacations and an Events Hall available for weddings, family events and other special occasions. Garden Weddings are a special feature.
Genesis Nature Park beautifully captures the spirit and history of the island. We were given a tour by the owner and was able to feed and pet some of the animals (but not the caiman for obvious reasons). We enjoyed our visit, thank you.

If you are visiting Tobago, try to find time to visit this very unassuming residential garden owned by Mr George. His hillside garden is full of nectar feeders attracting all the species of hummingbirds in huge numbers, plus other birds besides. Mr George is really knowledgable and also runs rainforest walks. There is an honesty box for a small donation towards bird food. Completely charming!
