Transylvania is a historical region in today's central Romania. Bound on the east and south by its natural borders, the Carpathian mountain range, historical Transylvania extended westward to the Apuseni Mountains. The term sometimes encompasses not only Transylvania proper, but also the historical regions of Crișana and Maramureș, and occasionally the Romanian part of Banat.

Well worth the climb to the top for the views. And the late 1400's clock mechanism on the 6th floor was interesting.

Stephen’s Tower is the most renown site in Baia Mare and it’s the most notorious symbol of the town. Located in the vicinity of the Old Center, in a modernized and quiet square, it is well-worth visiting, along with other many touristic objectives found in the area.

The church was built between 1493 and 1525. The presence of the fortified citadel meant that this fortified church was built later than most in the area. Inside the church is an Austrian Baroque style altar from 1735. The organ is one of the ten largest and most important such organs in Transylvania. After many fires the roof was fully restored in 1830.
Not very rich in information, but restored looks pretty good. You have nowhere to buy some souvenirs. Interesting to climb in the attic of the church.

Great historic and architectural site, part of the old defense system of the city. Nice way to have a first encounter with Sibiu.

One of a few towers which are part of the old defense system of the city. This one being one of the most elaborate and dominant.
