Manchester Disc Golf

Disc Golf has arrived in Greater Manchester! Manchester Disc Golf along with Trafford Council, The Friends of Longford Park and DUFFA have installed a new FREE-TO-PLAY 18-hole disc golf course in Longford Park, Stretford, Manchester. Thanks to funding from Veolia Trust, Thrive Trafford and a crowd funder, there are 18 permanent baskets (aka 'holes') on the course. There are both beginner-friendly and pro tee pads - so fun for all the family! The course is now complete and discs can be hired from the local café (please check the café opening hours and ensure you have enough time to play before heading out if hiring discs!). We can accommodate schools, youth and adult clubs, corporate events and stag/hen groups - please contact us for details.

Disc golf is great fun and the Manchester Disc Golf course is beautiful. Really well looked after by the volunteers and all of the regular players are really friendly. Great fun on your own or with the family, no matter if it's your 1st time or 1000th. I love to take my dog with me and have loads of fun walking him and throwing discs. Free to play if you have your own discs, or you can rent them from the cafe.

I visited The Altrincham Garrick yesterday to see an interesting play called “When the rain stops falling”. So very well acted. The special effects were brilliant. A very professional production. I am disabled and managed very well, using the lift to get to the bar. All staff were pleasant and helpful.

Imperial War Museum North

Purpose-built to tell powerful stories of over a century of conflict, IWM North makes full use of its extraordinary exhibition space to deliver a moving and immersive experience.

Reviewed By BarryC732 - Chorley, United Kingdom

Set in Salford Quays the IWM North is a modern museum exhibiting different aspects and effects of war. During our visit the theme was "Less we Forget", showing exhibits and films of WW1. The museum was well laid out and provided a thought provoking experience for us all. Entrance is free and a pay car park is situated next to the museum. The museum includes a shop and a cafe. The displays are changed regularly so well worth repeated visits. It is staffed by volunteers who are very helpful and will answer any queries.

Visitors can experience the club's history and go behind the scenes with the Manchester United Museum and Stadium Tour. The Museum covers an unrivaled depth of history & the 80 minute guided Stadium Tour allows visitors walk in the footsteps of legends, calling at the players' dressing room, before walking out of the tunnel towards the hallowed turf. Visitors can take their seat in the Managers' chair in the dugout and imagine the roar of the crowd on a match day. Additionally, visitors can have a bite to eat at the Manchester United Red Cafe. Visitors from all over the world are welcome to Old Trafford, and audio guides, souvenir guides and guided tours are available in a range of languages. We're committed to giving the same great experience to all visitors, so the tour of Old Trafford is fully accessible to wheelchair users, and the Museum has a lift to allow access to all 3 floors.
