There is an amazing sand dunes that you can climb and then enjoy the whole view of sea. Also an oasis is beside it so you can see some beautiful plants and flowers.

The Sand Museum in Tottori Sand Dunes is the only indoor museum exhibited sand sculpture specially. We exhibit the highest quality sand sculptures every year by the executive producer and the professional sculptor from all over the world.
This was definitely something new for me! Right next to the sand dunes, this museum puts up a new display every year. We were lucky enough to see the 2019 one, right after it opened. The sculptures are incredible. Just thinking about carving in sand, sent shivers of anxiety up and down my back. They have explanations, and the final product was mind blowing. Even more amazing (to the US mind), was the lack of barriers around the sand. I thought it was a mistake, but my guide said no. Japanese don't touch. There was a little sadness there, for me. As the Japanese welcome so many tourists, things are going to change. I found the Japanese like to have some things untouchable and unknowable - while my upbringing made me really want to touch one of those sculptures! (I didn't, of course.) The sculptures themselves are planned and done by an international team, which was also pretty cool.

The Warabekan is a museum of toys and children’s songs. We welcome everyone to come and visit. The Warabekan, opened on July 7th, 1995 has two Thema, children’s songs and toys. We are the home for children’s songs and commemorate the success of the ’89 Tottori World Toy Exposition. The museum is an old-style structure with the restored exterior of the former Tottori Prefectural Public Library, and it is filled with toys and songs of long ago. Come enjoy the various exhibits as you lose yourself in this ageless world.

We have freshly picked seafood freshly picked up from Tottori / Karou Port, and there is also a market for souvenirs and souvenir shops, and it can be said that it is a kitchen in Tottori City. In the fresh fish shop, regional shipping of fresh fish selected on the spot is also possible. At the market, various events such as "White or Big Fishing Festival" and "Matsuba Festival" are held. In the adjacent restaurant building, you can enjoy fresh seafood. Ikuushi cuisine "kaiyoen" is the first restaurant in western Japan to have a direct seawater dish installed, and it is recommended to have a lively white dish in the form of dishes.
We stopped at the fish market to had lunch. I ordered crab dune it was a very delicious and reasonable price. There was also a shopping hall nearby where all kinds of products were being sold and next to it, there is a fish and crab market.

This little center explains quite a lot about why the sand dunes are here, and how lighting across the ridges of the sand dunes changes, and how ripples are formed. We had particular fun learning about this with a man who explained some of it to us with onomatopoeia. Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to run into him, or you have better Japanese than us!!
