Tønsberg [²tønsbærj] ( listen) is a municipality in Vestfold county, southern Norway, located around 102 kilometres (63 miles) south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Tønsberg. The municipality has a population of 41,239 and covers an area of 107 square kilometres (41 square miles).

This was my first escape room experience, and I didn’t quite know what to expect. What a great surprise! I enjoyed solving the puzzles and managing to escape at the end was the icing on the cake. Must add that the staff was friendly and professional. I can easily recommend this place.

Brick church with two steeples built in 1901. The organ is from 1972, has 32 pipes and is considered to be the finest concert organ in the district. The former medieval church burned in 1898. Slagen's oldest preserved altar piece, a unique, magnificent, late medieval triptych from about 1480 with twelve carvings depicting St.Ursula's journey to Rome, was saved. It is now in the University Museum of Antiquities in Oslo. The painter, Sven Jorgensen, one of Vestfold's better known artists, is buried here in Slagen Church cemetery. Church Service every Sunday 11 am.

From there to the deciduous forest at Gullkronene = 1 km. Kjelle to Tomsbakken/Greveskogen = 2,4 km. From there via the Castle Rock to Honnorbryggen = 4 km.

The Bell Museum, Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry Norway's only existing bell foundry which was established in 1844, lies 6 km north of Tonsberg centre. Northern Europe's largest manual carillon was manufactured here. Here at Nauen the 4.000 kilo bell for Oslo Town Hall was cast in 1948, and also in 1944 Norway's largest church bell for the Nidaros Cathedral. For groups, guided tours with commentary and slides, and possible casting in the foundry.
