Day-trip distance from Buenos Aires, the Tigre River Delta offers porteños (Buenos Aires residents) and tourists alike a playground for everything from horseback riding and hiking to fishing and swimming. Comprised of hundreds of tiny islands, the Tigre is about 20 miles northeast of Buenos Aires and is reachable from the city by trains, then by boat from the train station. While the main attraction here is the delta itself (formed where five rivers come together), you’ll also find a Naval Museum, restaurants and playgrounds for kids. Several tour companies offer day-trip excursions to the Tigre River Delta—but visitors also can book stays in area bed & breakfasts and adventure lodges.

Tigre is about 45 mins north of Buenos Aires and an incredibly beautiful town away from the busy and crowded city. We came to kayak the delta for the day, stroll along the Lujan river, and have a nice lunch. We did all the above. We parked along Calle Victorica to stroll the walkway and watch boats before we kayaked ourselves. The weather was beautiful, as was the flora, bridges, parks, and views of the river. On one end you can find a naval museum, and the other restaurants and ice cream spots. Beautiful part of Tigre!

Sturla Viajes is a family business that has been developing through three generations under a fundamental premise: honesty and hard work. It is by upholding these principles that we have a 70 year experience providing services in the Delta del Paraná. Our services include trips in the first and second section of the island area for individual passengers and groups; we make trips in the Rio de la Plata, and night trips under the moonlight. We have a department devoted to the organization of events, from product launching, workday meetings to social events.
