Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

A great place to appreciate the sunset or the night time scenery of the harbour – we went twice during our stay and were lucky enough to get a window seat once which was a spectacular spot to wind down after a day of sight seeing. The drinks and mocktails are lovely, the nibbles nice and salty, and the service good. You don’t have to be staying at the Shangri La to visit here but if you are in the hotel, make a point of popping up.

I love this pub. The food is always top notch pub fare and it is the place I keep returning to for a meal in the Rocks area. Reasonably priced and delicious. I love their vegetarian option which they change periodically and the fried chicken burger and onion rings are fabulous! I would go just for their numerous beer choices as well. All up my favourite Sydney pub.

Stopped in at the orient after a day on the harbour and the food & cocktails were amazing, lovely little hidden gem with a harbour view, nice atmosphere and great staff highly recommended popping past for a lunch.

The Argyle is situated in The Rocks, in one of Australia’s oldest buildings . The venue has a rich historic feel, with a uniquely modern take. Housed in the 1820s Argyle Stores building in the heart of Sydney’s Rocks precinct, The Argyle retains much of the original heritage-listed structure. An iconic Rocks hotspot, The Argyle has become a favourite of both locals and visitors alike since its opening in 2007. It holds a series of unique bars spread over two levels – including the famed outdoor cobblestone courtyard! The Argyle is a venue to suit any mood or occasion. With six bars held over two levels, we have a variety of event areas to suit any mood and function – so whether you decide to hide away in a booth, gather friends around the high tables, chill out in the lounges, or venture out into the open-air sandstone courtyard, the choice is yours!
If you're looking for the best parties in Sydney then you must come to The Argyle! When they throw a party, they literally go ALL OUT! Plus, unlike other clubs, The Argyle is in a historical building of The Rocks (Old Sydney) with a lot of character! They have the best local and international DJ's. And, don't get me started on their cocktails, the menu is so unique and delicious that you're going to want to try them all!
