Located in the magnificent Hawkesbury Valley, just over one hour from the heart of Sydney CBD, Tobruk Sydney offers you a day like no other. The expansive acreage overlooking the Hawkesbury River Valley and Blue Mountains allows you to experience a variety of activities, suitable for all ages. With sheep shearing, working dogs mustering sheep, duck shows, whip and boomerang demonstrations and Stockman on horseback, Tobruk Sydney is packed full of fun experiences you will never forget. Greeted by a Stockman on horseback, you will drive into Tobruk Sydney with breathtaking views of the property, with the Blue Mountains showing off in the background. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the friendly staff and they will direct you over to our 'Drovers Camp' where the Stockman will tell you all about life on a sheep station. Tasting the delicious Billy Tea and Damper that the Stockman has cooked fresh for you that morning, you will have your first experience of life as a Stockman. Watching the outback show has many exciting experiences, such as the unique Whip & Boomerang and Duck Show, along with discovering how the working dogs are trained. You will see the working dogs in action, as they muster the sheep into the sheep yards. Immerse yourself in the fascinating live sheep shearing demonstration, before heading back over to the Drovers Camp for a freshly-cooked Aussie BBQ lunch (included in our Premium & Afternoon program). Once you've enjoyed your delicious lunch, try your hand at cracking a whip or throwing a boomerang, or jump on a an optional tractor for a tour of the whole property.

It was excellent choice to do something different in Sydney ! The economy program (starts with the drovers camp - how to make billy tea and tasting of fresh bake dampers . Then was demo of boomerang and whip crackling- very entertaining ! There was the working dog herding the sheep - the dog Bendi was just too clever ! The show ended with sheep shearing , very interactive and educational ). The hostress Tess was just brilliant ! She made us laughed so much, my family from Malaysia were very impressed. The staffs (Kellie, Maria, Nick) were so lovely. We felt so welcomed. The homestead, was definately better than what we had imagined. Its basic but clean and cozy. There was no internet and phone reception , which makes it perfect for people who really want to spend some quality time together without any technology interference. We brought Jenga with us, we went out for a walk, played with Bendi and had a few go with boomerang, we had a fantastic time !!! Thanks for the excellent hospitality .

Went there with no expectations at all. Amazed that we had not been before. Restoration has been to maintain the original feel of a property that has been held in one family for 6 generations. All the staff are totally committed to the visitor leaving totally amazed that this could exist in the Hills of Sydney and not been made into a television series or movie. Words do not do justice to this experience. do not miss it.

Fagan Park

We wanted to get away from the crowd this weekend and accidentally found this place. The map says this garden has ''Gardens of Many nations" in it. Sounds interesting! It is around one-hour's drive away from the city center. Ideal distance! The garden turned out smaller than we expected, but it has several lakes of different styles, beautiful mini gardens of different nations (we saw people taking wedding pictures there), kids playgrounds, and even an area to fly model aircraft (not sure whether that is open to the public or not, we only watched from a distance). My favourite was the reserved area at a corner of the garden. It is full of tranquility and totally refreshing, if one slows down and embraces the nature. Miraculous! Although it is winter, the garden is so colorful!

Bella Vista Farm Park

Experience the tranquillity of Bella Vista Farm and soak up the surrounding 20 hectares of parkland and panoramic views of the Sydney basin back to the Blue Mountains. Immerse yourself in Australia’s history with a morning tea in the charming gardens and courtyard of the original homestead and take a tour of the homestead interior and various farm buildings. Bella Vista Farm boasts a string of past owners and farm uses that contributed significantly to the development of Australian agriculture, including the first Merino Sheep Farm in Australia and the foundation of the Australian citrus fruit industry. The site is an intact farm including homestead and out-buildings dating from the original grant to Joseph Foveaux in 1799. The Farm is one of the best surviving examples of a hilltop farm in the metropolitan area. Discover the history of the Farm and how its history was rediscovered thus ensuring its survival. Enjoy a social picnic and make use of the public BBQ facilities in the outer grounds of the farm or simply wander the walk ways and view the avenue of Bunya Pines that form the original driveway to the homestead.

Went here to watch the Ret Hot Summer Tour, featuring bands like Moving Pictures, Baby Animals, The Angels, Screaming Jets and Suzi Quatro. The crowd was capped at 5,000, so well done to the organisers as this amount of people was just perfect. There were virtually no queues for food and drink. A totally outdoor venue where events like this go ahead rain, hail or shine. 12pm - 9pm, a great day out with friends listening to some great music. BYO chair, rug, sealed bottle water and snacks. Depending on the event, alcohol is served, but generally mid strength beer and mid strength spirits, and normal wine but smaller servings (187ml). Parking onsite but as we lived locally, we walked to the event. Sunscreen and a hat is a must in the warmer months. Give this event location a go..
