Founded in 1893 as a mission of Christ Church, Houston’s first Episcopal church, Trinity located southwest of downtown. After a quarter of a century of existence in wooden buildings, Trinity parish built its present imposing structure (1917 - 1921) in Houston's South End, at the corner of Main Street and Holman Avenue. That structure, designed by Ralph Adams Cram of Boston and William Ward Watkin of Houston became an architectural landmark constructed in the neo-Gothic style with Texas limestone and a 97 foot bell tower.

Have spoken about visiting here probably for the past decade but was never able to get to Houston. This time made Houston a stopover on our way to Cuba via Panama just to visit Lakewood Church. The wait was perfect as we couldn't of timed it better being here on the Easter weekend allowing us to attend the Easter Sunday service. Always looked great on TV but to experiencing this place in real life was just incredible. The building inside was spectecular without taking away what it's purpose was. The service was better than we could of anticipated. The whole service was all about the occasion and the atmosphere generated by everything meshed together truly to make it extra special. On the conclusion we spent some time in the gift store and found it well priced but with many items we had not seen elsewhere. The staff and members of the church were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable being there.

Sunday 9a & 11a | 3315 7 Mile Rd, Galveston Church is so much more than a building or place to worship on the weekend. God's Church is about connecting relationally with Jesus and then with others, growing in our faith, and building a strong foundation for your family. Our deepest desire is that every person would believe in Jesus, belong to His family, be a disciple, and build His kingdom.
Awesome place. Great people. Come as you are. You won’t regret it. Whether a short get away or moving to the island, COLG is great.

A few blocks west of the Galleria, St, Michael's church serves a prosperous residential area. It is physically associated with St. Michael's Catholic School, a co-ed private school for pre-K through 8th grades. The modern structure consists of an ample main nave leading to the altar, and two side aisles, separated from the main nave by tall, concrete columns. Modern chandeliers hang from the high ceiling, and lovely, colorful, modern stained glass covers the windows. A separate chapel to the Virgin of Guadalupe is also decorated with beautiful stained glass windows. Other statues and lovely mosaics enhance the beauty of the church. A gigantic bronze statue of St. Michael stands just outside the church, behind the altar. Multiple flower beds are interspersed in the generous parking area. The church has a couple of good choirs and a vigorous music program, as well as extensive outreach efforts.
