Yes, this is the same Turley Cellars of Napa Valley, with another winery here in Paso Robles. I've often said smart winemakers of Napa Valley buy their grapes in Paso Robles. Even smarter, would be to buy the vineyards. And that's exactly what's Turley has...MoreThank you so much for the nice review. We love to share our passion for old vines and we are dedicated to continuing to rescue and rehabilitate old vineyards all over the state from the demise they otherwise face. They are worth saving!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Calcareous Vineyard. Jules, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable about their wines! Nice seating area outside to enjoy wines & views. Our tastings were very relaxed & we were able to take our time and just enjoy the day!

Peachy Canyon is one of the oldest family owned and operated wineries on Paso Robles' west side. The tasting room is located in a refurbished 1800's era schoolhouse on one of Peachy Canyon's four estate vineyard properties (the appropriately named "Old Schoolhouse" vineyard). We're known for our award-winning red Zinfandel lineup - including super premium Zins that are often produced in lots of less 400 cases each - as well as our Bordeaux and Rhone varietal wines. We believe in sustainable winemaking and are dedicated to "keeping it local." Our vineyards are managed by us, and all grapes are harvested and processed by hand by our team. Our tasting room offers a spacious lawn picnic area and a gazebo, not to mention beautiful vineyard surroundings! Stop by with a picnic and have a glass with us... Chairs, blankets, (leashed) pets and children always welcome.
Beautiful winery just off the highway - very easy access and not far from Paso Robles. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Peachy Canyon is known for its Zinfandels which were excellent, but we brought home an outstanding 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed inside the tasting room and there is also a large shaded outdoor area.

Rotta Winery was our first stop in Paso for wine tasting. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The wine was delicious, well worth the tasting fee. The property itself is very cute, with spectacular views. We visited during the week but heard the weekends are packed with lawn games, events, etc. Rotta is a definite recommendation for wine lovers!

AronHill Vineyards resides atop a steep limestone overlook just west of Paso Robles. Here, Judy Aron cultivates eight acres of dry-farmed Primitivo and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing small-lot wines of natural purity and structure. The AronHill Bistro is the Paso Robles wine country’s dining discovery, where you will enjoy fresh dishes made from seasonal and local ingredients, all paired with stunning hilltop views. The philosophy of the AronHill Bistro mirrors our approach to winemaking: deliver full, authentic flavors by relying on the best ingredients, and by not overcomplicating what nature has provided.
When I visited with friends there were two young ladies there to pour the wine. They were friendly but there was something a little louche about both! One of them seemed to be tippling on the side and the other was rather absentminded about the...MoreI'm sorry to hear our staff did not meet your expectations. I hope the next time you are in Paso Robles you will try the wines and Bistro again.

Venteux, which means windy in French, offers mostly Rhone varietals like Grenache and Mourvedre without the traditional Rhone blending. It is a small winery with a small tasting room. As with any small business, everyone wears multiple hats. So you get to hear bits of information in between the tasting room attendant's other tasks.

Epoch was founded on a simple philosophy, to strive to make wines that are delicious and complex, seriously fun to drink, interestingly iconoclastic, seductively hedonistic, thought provoking and hopefully, most importantly, memory making. In a short time, we have quickly developed a big reputation for small production, hand-crafted, artisanal wines with abundant personalities. We produce estate-grown Rhone, Zinfandel, and Tempranillo varietals and our winemaker, Jordan Fiorentini, crafts our wines with minimal intervention in the winery so the most delicious wine makes it to your glass. We are located on the west side of the Paso Robles wine region on the historic York Mountain. We invite you to come taste the wines, visit the team and capture your own Epoch moment here on the historic York Mountain.
▪️Location: Winery is located on the mountain road off 46 enroute to Cambria. Pleasant drive.
▪️Tasting Room: Large, modern room that incorporates the more than 100-year history of the location.
▪️Wines tasted: Wide range of reds and one white. Tempranillo, Authenticity and Block B are recent favorites.
▪️Cost: High, which is fair for the excellent quality.
▪️Service: Friendly, personalized and professional.
▪️Previous experience: About six previous visits. All good.
▪️Recommend? Strong yes.

So this is our VERY favorite winery but takes a little time to find (about 45 minutes from Pismo Beach just beyond Atascadero). The best white wines ever and their pino noir is exceptional. Lesley was very knowledgeable. We really enjoy taking this little side trip whenever we're in the area. Highly recommend.

We stopped here late on Saturday afternoon to look at pumpkins and found more than we expected. We started to sample the different honeys and we were hooked. We bought several bottles, some apples and just enjoyed wandering around looking at the pumpkins ,produce and the small collection of animals on display. This is a very nice family run farm stand that is well worth a stop while touring the area.

My countless visit to this place was no less distinctive; Frank is a master of Zinfandel, who manages subtly and nuance with a usually bold, fruit forward varietal. His 2013 is a remarkable effort and should age beautifully considering how amazing his 2012 and 2011 are. Cellar these puppies or better yet, buy one to cellar and one to drink. His Narelli Syrah/Grenache blend is equally excellent and will probably only be around for a few more years as he's going to be concentrating on his Zins from now on. The After Hours Pinot Blanc dessert wine is liquid heaven, like honey and ambrosia in a glass. Be prepared to pop down $50 a bottle for these. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
