We just became aware of this place on Father’s Day and love it! The grounds are beautiful and so is the tasting room. We went again on a Friday afternoon, had a couple of glasses of wine along with a fruit and cheese tray and spent a lovely couple of hours enjoying a warm summer breeze on the patio. It’s unlike other family vineyards I’ve been to. Mike and Michelle were very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Dorner Family Vineyard.

This was an awesome experience to watch a long train make the loop and go under itself using a tunnel and coming out the other end while it was still passing by us at the observation area. Cool Stuff!!! By the way while going to the viewing area we saw a bobcat in broad daylight. Also, COOL.

What a great museum with a great history! Many familiar items and many new to me. Great example of what a community can accomplish. Then go see the Loop!

Tomo-Kahni State Historic Park was created as a unit of California State Parks in 1993 to protect and preserve the integrity of this unique site. Nestled atop a ridge in the Tehachapi Mountains, overlooking Sand Canyon to the east and the Tehachapi valley to the west, Tomo-Kahni, or "Winter Village," was the site of a Kawaiisu (Nuwa) village. The location was likely chosen for its moderate temperature and plentiful resources. The Kawaiisu migrated from the Great Basin and made the Tehachapi their home for two to three thousand years. The Kawaiisu are noted for their finely woven baskets of intricate and colorful design. Tour Information Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the site, Tomo-Kahni is available to the public by tour only. These tours are led by trained State Park Volunteers on weekends during the spring and fall months.
