February 1, 2022 Randal Brittian

Tbilisi (English: /təbɪˈliːsi, təˈbɪlɪsi/ tə-bih-LEE-see, tə-BIL-ih-see; Georgian: თბილისი [tʰbilisi] ( listen)), in some countries also still named by its pre-1936 international designation Tiflis (/ˈtɪflɪs/ TIF-liss), is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, since then Tbilisi served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Between 1801 and 1917, then part of the Russian Empire, Tbilisi was the seat of the Imperial Viceroy, governing both Southern and Northern Caucasus.

Excellent remote walking tour of the old city of Tbilisi with Bacho via internet. The technology worked well and Bacho has perfect English. Bacho is a friendly and very well informed guide. It was wonderful to get a taste of this beautiful and interesting looking city in the only way possible in current circumstances. Georgia is now very high on my list of countries to visit when circumstances allow and I will not hesitate to contact Bacho and Georgian holidays to help plan my trip. Highly recommended. Many thanks. Mike Davey England

This is the simplest and maybe the most delicious way to get to know the capital of Georgia. Have a rest after your flight and let us take care of you, once you are ready to explore. We show our guests the Tbilisi-est spots of the Old Town - usually not only Top-3 Obligatory Sights, but the hidden courtyards, houses saved from Sovietization and demolishing, little traditional bakeries and soda nooks... and of course, wine spots! Because wine is in our blood, and we are eager to introduce our 8000-years-old winemaking culture to everyone. And to you. Especially to you!

Inclusions: We have a little coffee break in one of the old cafes in Tbilisi, We taste at least five wines during our tour, Georgian bread and unique candies made by family recipe are included in the walk, We finish the tour with a light lunch, Cable Car Fee

Exclusions: Extra portions of food or drinks, beyond the tasting sets and meal

It was the most pleasant and memorable solo tour I have ever experienced. Lasha is knowledgeable and a positive and energetic guide. He shared his info and passion regarding Georgia in a pleasant manner. The program was tailormade to my taste. Lasha and Ioane were great company. Lasha's grandparents hosted us for lunch in a typical Georgian way. What an honour to have met them. I will highly recommend Lasha's company to any visitor of Georgia!

This is more than a review: this is the story about how I fell in love with Georgia, its people and everything that turned an unpretentious trip to a foreign country into something extraordinary, including the awesome team of Gamarjoba Tours. These guys will go above and beyond to accommodate all your needs and make you feel at home... And when I say that, I really, REALLY mean it - Georgian hospitality at its best! Tata, our amazing blue-haired tour guide, couldn't be recommended enough. As she led our way through snowy mountains and wine glasses, Tata became an instant friend and made the whole experience even more special :) It was trully an unforgettable trip and I can't wait to go back!

We got married in Georgia last April 2021. Our wedding coordinator referred us George to tour us around after our wedding ceremony. He drove us around tourist spots in Georgia. Not to mention that he also took beautiful photos of us and even drop us at the best restaurant in TBILISI. It was really fun!! We really love coming back to this beautiful place. We are a group of 6 (with our friends). We gotta visit famous places at a very very affordable price. We will definitely come back to Georgia after Covid and of course, will contact Goerge. (as always)
