We were met at cruise ship and had to wait for another family to join. All well and good. They had not pre booked! Our driver spoke very poor English. Not a problem as we speak Italian so could understand Spanish. He pointed out all the American restaurants and fast food cafes of which we had no interest. He didn’t seem to know his history of the area. On arrival at cliff divers he said we had to pay entrance! I said it was included as well as light refreshments. He said no. It really was a poor tour. Yet again we should have gone with cruise ship tour!

Enjoy a trip throughout the mountains of Guerrero State, Continue your journey towards Taxco, the well known Silver City, located on the upper mountains and surrounded by silver mines. This tour is a wonderful opportunity to taste the best local offerings of Guerrero! The mezcal is very impressive and the family story of creating it is truly amazing. The lunch that is provided is the best meal we had in Mexico (my French partner raved that the restaurant was so good it deserved a Michelin Star) and even the local tea and bread was a special experience. Both places were beautifully decorated and all of the people were so hospitable. The drive is a couple of hours, but we’ll worth it and we learned so much about the history of Mexico on the way. The guides also took exceptional safety precautions in light of Covid (they wore masks and sanitized at every stop and always had sanitizer available). Neither restaurant was crowded at all and we felt perfectly safe the whole time. Highly recommend!

I had been to Taxco before without taking a tour and loved it. This time I traveled with a group of friends who were all experienced travelers. We were all very impressed with the skill, knowledge and humor of our guide Roger. He made a long drive seem shorter by sharing information even experienced travelers didn't know regarding Mexico, Acapulco and Taxco. While there, two rout options were often provided allowing the less mobile a more level road to walk, then the two sub-groups met up again a few minutes later. The choice of restaurant overlooking the city was perfect with the view, excellent food and service. The van we used was a newer model in top shape and the restroom stops were perfectly timed! I didn't give the tour an Excellent score because of the many stops in various silver shops. I would have been good with just one. I totally understand the necessity and process but I was weighed down with camera equipment and would have rather been shooting than window shopping. Seriously, how much silver can a person buy? Don't answer that... As the title states: Absolutely great tour guide to a great city! I highly recommend.
