As soon as you arrive ... Tour of the ramparts (about 6 klm), Stop to visit the old Pasha Palace (Salam Palace transformed into a Riad hotel) or simply drink a fresh orange juice, or a mint tea in the patio, and palace gardens. After this refreshment, we continue our walk in the alleys of the medina, then finish with the visit of the place Assarag ... (similar to the Jamaa el fna square of Marrakech); Place of the meeting of the peasants coming from the neighborhoods and the townsmen of the medina. We go to the oasis of Tiout about thirty kilometers from Taroudant; a Berber village at the foot of the Anti-Atlas. A magnificent palm grove extends between several villages with red ocher houses offering a sublime landscape. On the height of a hill, the kasbah Tiout offers a panorama both green and desert. And to visit the palm grove the donkey remains the best way, and effective. Arrive at the hotel envions: 17:00

To discover the real Morocco culture and get more information & souvenir in the village of Tiout palm grove reminiscent of Marrakech. The ruins of an ancient kasbah transformed into a tourist restaurant, dominate the site. From the top of the peak, breathtaking views to offer on the High Atlas and the Souss Valley. For the record, Fernandel turned Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves in this palm grove in 1954. The pretty Berber town offers much to see and it is on the road to Agadir, these attics villages, which date from the 16th century and are a must-see before they completely disappeared.

Its a nice drive to the Paradise Valley. When we arrived been welcomed by 3 wild dogs who went walking with us. When we actually arrived at the Valley was so disappointed, the place is full of rubbish, chairs and tables in the lake :( The man lake where you use to be able to do cliff jumping was dry ( no rain for 3 years ) wish they have told us about it as that was the main reason we went, we actually wanted to swim in it. Overall it was still nice site seeing and nice walk.

At the intersection of the souss valley and the mountains of the high Atlas niche in Taroudant, a real small jewel that is representative of the Moroccan South. Behind its beautiful ochre walls, you will discover the famous place Assarag : bustling place and a meeting point of the roudanis, the souks somewhat extended, but certainly very animated and you shall rejoice by the tour of the ramparts in the horse-drawn carriage to admire the beauty of the stunning gardens and orchards. 30 km south-east of Taroudant, Tioute is an old village which extends over 1000 ha. Perched on a rocky peak, dominated by an ancient Kasbah, Tioute overlooks a augustus palm groves. A framework captivating having served as the scene of the shooting in the film ” Ali baba and the 40 thieves in 1952 “.

With three extra days in Namibia, I decided to include a quick trip to Etosha. I struggled to find a company that was still operational, and met my needs. Then I chatted with Megan, representative with Across Africa. I quickly knew she was actually interested in helping. Her sincerity, honesty, humanity and dedication were recognized immediately, and I knew that I didn’t need to search further. She set up my trip with no hidden BS, made an effort to meet all my needs, and did all of it promptly, professionally, and graciously. My trip turned out perfectly down to the last detail. I credit Megan and my guide Steve for making my quick visit to Etosha unforgettable. Because of them I will use Across Africa in the future and suggest to others that they do the same!

Lovely driver/tour guide. Picked up on time. However, there was no ‘paradise valley’. On the way to the valley, we stopped at a garden. A random lady, without any introduction, took us for a walk in this garden and showed us different plants and told us their names and their benefits. She then took us to the oil shop and indirectly pressured to buy tiny argan oil tubs for €30. It was the same argan/moroccon oil on Amazon for €5. But she said its natural etc. and would not stop insisting. I had to be firm with her and got out of there. Dont be fooled by them. They will be extremely nice to you and make you tea and put lots of creams and lotions on you and then charge you extortionate prices for tiny jars. We then got back in the car and made our way into the mountains towards the valley. After a 25 minute downhill walk, we arrived at this valley and there was no water. There was no lake. It was nothing like in the pictures. I was the first one to get here as our guide picked us up at 8am. Many others arrived later as they get picked up at 9am. Soon we were followed by crowds of people who also arrived and had a WTF moment. They were shocked to see that there was only a few bunch of rocks here and nothing else. AND THEN afterwards the tour guides started to say ‘oh, Morocco got no rain in the winter so they are going through a dry spell’. They could have said this before I bought the tickets or not advertise with pictures taken from last year or before. Morocco may or may not get rain in December 2020. Until then, this place is nothing like the pictures. There was one small puddle of muddy/dirty water. We went further where the guide said we could see another valley/lake. Hiked for another 30 minutes, mostly uphill and then downhill. Arrived at another tiny lake with dirty water. Did not even bother posing for pictures. Awful. Avoid. For the company arranging these visits, be honest with your pictures or you are committing fraud. And also, the oil garden should not be part of a trip. I did not want a random lady selling me oil for €30 at 8:30 in the morning.
