The only part remaining of the original medieval castle is the tower of Simon de Montfort to which the existing forecastle was added in the 14th century. The main body, which was built between 1530 and 1545 in the style of the Italian Renaissance, boasts façades decorated with sculptures which will undoubtedly be of special interest to the visitor. The various rooms are enriched by their antique furnishings.
