The Primeur des Halles is an authentic shop where you can find a large range of local products, fresh fruits and vegetables from local producers but also some "produits du terroir" : olive oil from the Baux valley, round rice from Camargue, artisanal beers from Beaucaire, Provence herbs, recipes with bull meat...

We have visited many years ago but hadn't remembered how excellent this castle is. Well restored after centuries of use as a prison, very atmospheric and fairly easy to negotiate, although many spiral staircases to arrive at the top. Views from the roof are amazing, and reading the graffiti from the British prisoners of war in the 1750's is interesting. There are also incised pictures of boats from the 14th century, just amazing A good shop on the way in and excellent explanatory leaflets in various languages.
