Tanjung Tokong is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northeastern coast of Penang Island, next to Pulau Tikus and 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of George Town proper. Over the recent decades, the former fishing village has been transformed into an upper class residential suburb of George Town, with high-rises such as Straits Quay lining the coast.

I needed a tuxedo tailor-made last minute before a trip overseas and only had a 3-day turnaround. I give hands-on cooking classes for tourist visiting the Penang, Malaysia. The classes I teach tourist how to prepare a famous local Malaysian dish using the locally sourced product. We are family friendly and can offer classes for all ages. Classes are held Mon-Sat in the morning from 8 am till 12 noon. Class cost 200 MYR and each student gets to eat the dish they prepared.

I will be relocating to Penang in the new future and during my short visit I wanted a cooking experience that included visiting the market. In the shops I had seen so many vegetables that I had never seen before and don’t know how to prepare. Alou went above and beyond. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient and takes time to answer all your questions.The market experience was so much more than I expected. Alou explained what each of the vegetables could be used for and how they could be prepared. Watching the crushing of coconuts to get the milk was an experience not many would have the privilege of witnessing and then watching and tasting roti and various dishes been made just added to the whole experience. Back at the kitchen, Alou made you feel right at home and was able to articulate what you needed to do and how. I would highly recommend a cooking class with Alou and there are also various dishes to choose from. I feel that I came away having made a friend not that it was just another cooking class that I had attended. This was certainly the highlight of my stay.

A very attractive facility with good massages at reasonable prices. If you want a shower after an oil massage you have to tell them up front as they are different sections of the shop. Otherwise a good experience.
