Tamarindo is a prime spot for surfing and sportfishing, diving and sunning. Nesting leatherback turtles do their thing along the beaches from October to May and, for some nesting of your own, gorgeous beach houses, B&Bs and luxury hotels line the sunny sands. Shopping and dining options are superb and plentiful, perfect for sampling the true flavors of Costa Rica.

The Thai massage was wonderful and relaxing. I really felt my tension disappear and my body more limber after the massage. Her energy was kind and wonderful and could be felt during the massage.

Enjoy exciting horseback riding tours at Hacienda Pinilla through forests, cattle pastures and pristine white sand Langosta Beach. Discover Costa Rica ' s unique nature, beach and the Hacienda Pinilla experience. Our hours of operation are from Monday through Sunday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
We booked a 90 minute trek at Hacienda Pinilla stables just before Christmas. My wife is an experienced rider whilst my daughter (age 7) and I had never ridden before. Hacienda Pinilla is located a couple of miles away from Tamarindo and is a private community set in 4,500 acres of wildlife. The trek we went on was 90 minutes long with each of us matched up to a horse ideally suited for our needs. All the horses seemed well looked after, not over worked and happy. There were just the three of us on the trek accompanied by two guides. We went through plains, tropical dry forest, areas of primary/secondary forest (including some ~300 year old Pochote trees) and finally along Langosta beach back towards the stables. Bug spray and bottled water were offered if we needed it and there are toilet facilities at the stables. We go to see howler monkeys, spectacled owls, a colony of bats as well as dozens of bird and reptile species along the route with some amazing trees and views. Trekking down the beach at the end is a treat on the beautiful beach. The guides were knowledgeable about the area, it's history, flora and fauna. We went back again a couple of times and got to go on some other variations of route as mine and my daughter's skill level improved - some with much steeper inclines or different vantage points. Would highly recommend this to anyone - fair price and a wonderful way to spend a few hours of your day.

Untouched beaches, huge waves, quaint spots to eat. It's worth the 20 minute drive from the Tamarindo area.

The beach is a lot of fun. Lot’s of restaurants, amazingly friendly people and great waves for surfing. We don’t surf but loved to watch. There are a lot of vendors but none are extremely pushy. Most are a lot of fun. Overall our beach experience has been amazing.

Playa Langosta is quiet beach with great opportunity for adventure and exploration. The waves are spectacular when the tide is coming in and the pools left behind when the tide is going out are healing and relaxing.

Rehabilitation and release center of wild animals, and environmental education, focused in preservation and conservation of Costa Rican wildlife.
This is just the most wonderful tour we've had on our trip, so I had to immediately come write a review. We got a guided tour and our guide was so knowledgeable! She told us the back story of every animal and how it came into the rescue, and also why each one wasn't able to be rehabilitated. The stories of the animals are tragic (lost their parents to wild fires, were kept as pets in tiny cages, some were hit by cars) but to see each of these little guys have a healthy, happy home where they are allowed to be as wild as possible while remaining safe, was very inspiring. Highly, highly recommend! Excellent tour and a really wonderful cause to support!
