Experience the thrill of driving your own team of Alaskan huskies around our private racing trail system. In this adrenaline-fueled, behind-the-scenes experience, learn how these amazing creatures live, play, and train in a 4-time Iditarod champion’s kennel. With smaller groups for a more personal experience, you and one other person from your group will drive your own team of dogs through the beautiful birch and spruce forest. Our experienced guides will talk about our kennel's involvement in the Iditarod, and will teach you about how these amazingly tough dogs and mushers survive and thrive on 1,000 mile endurance races through the heart of Alaska. Many of the dogs on your team are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions. All the dogs at our kennel are extremely friendly and love attention; throw the ball, walk with the dogs, or have a seat and cuddle a puppy!
The adventure we experienced at Dallas Seavey's AK Sled Dog Tours was one of the main highlights of our trip to Alaska in August and September. This is an up-close and personal tour that really teaches you about sled dog racing and the history of the Iditarod. Dallas is a third generation Iditarod champion, and his grandfather was one of the original founders of the Iditarod. During the tour you get to meet the 150 dogs "up close and personal", and we were also allowed to interact with a new litter of beautiful sled-dog puppies being socialized to handling by humans. Dallas and his team are incredibly passionate about their dogs, and we were able to watch Dallas and his team caring for their sled dogs before and after their daily runs, which can be up to 150 miles per day or longer. Dallas clearly loves these dogs, and watching him spending time providing love and attention after he unharnessed each dog was really special! Our tour guide Becky was amazing, and our tour through the wilderness attached to six or seven dogs was truly exhilarating.

Whether you are an experienced adventurer or a family traveling with children, TRG‘s scenic float trips fit a broad spectrum of tastes. Few places in the world rival the scenic beauty of Mt. McKinley (known locally as Denali, or “the Great One” in the Tanana Athabascan dialect) and the glacier-fed river valleys of the southern slopes of the Alaska Range. Located just 120 road miles northeast of Anchorage, the quaint, historic town of Talkeetna sits near the confluence of three mighty rivers, the Susitna, the Chulitna, and the Talkeetna. TRG operates out of a yurt office on Main Street. Other activities in the area include hiking in Denali State Park, flightseeing amidst the spectacular peaks of the Alaska Range, and remote wilderness exploration in the unspoiled reaches of Denali National Park and the nearby Talkeetna Mountains — just to name a few. We offer 2-hour Talkeetna River and 4-hour Chulitna River Trips. As well as custom and overnight trips, just call or email us for more information. We provide rain gear and boots so you can enjoy your trip rain or shine.
