Keerthi Narayana Temple

Reviewed By P_Raj_BLR - Bengaluru, India

Although not part of the panchalingas this is for me, the best spot in Talacaud. It is adjacent to the Vaidyanatheshwara temple itself and reachable from the main road. This Vishnu temple also offers worship and decorum is expected to be maintained. Architecture wise this is very pleasing with a good landscape lined with trees. This temple is also sort of in a pit and offers great views from the walkway between Paataleshwara Temple and Maruleshwara Temple.

Talakad Panchalinga Temples

Reviewed By VaSa2717 - Dublin, Ireland

The temples of Talakad stands as a perfect example of how Shaivism and Vaishnavism co-existed in a cultural society some centuries back. I would recommend people to visit the temples in the evening around 6 to 7 PM as most of them close around 7:30 PM. Do not forget to visit the Cauvery bathing spot. The river bed is not too deep and it good to take a bath even for non-swimmers. Food - There are not many options for food like in other towns or villages. There is a couple of mess where you get sumptuous Karnataka meal for dinner and lunch. The food is prepared as per the orders they receive in-person or over the phone. Udupi mess is a must-try for dinner. The food was served hot on the banana leaf and it was very tasty.
